The Illegal Pet Trade in Cheetah Cubs Must be Stopped & #RememberingCheetahs @rememberingwildlife trying to do something about it. #Repost “Away from our Kickstarter campaign for a moment, we are delighted to announce our latest donation of $30,000 USD from sales of Remembering Cheetahs to the work of @ccfcheetah Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in Somaliland. This is on top of previous donations to them of $54,000 for their livestock guarding programme in Namibia, taking our total support to them to $84,000 / £64,000. This cub is a victim of the illegal pet trade and is being cared for by the team in Somaliland. The on-going illegal pet trade is one of the biggest threats to cheetah survival in the wild and CCF works tirelessly to try and prevent it. Our funds will be used to train field veterinarians and to support an awareness campaign along the border of Somaliland & Ethiopia, as well as contributing to a much-needed new vehicle in that area.
