Hank, a family dog, has been seized by the police in Belfast (northern Ireland), for the sole reason that he "looks" like a pit bull (whatever that means), a banned breed. While his owners were away, police seized the dog for "assessment". If they deem he is a pit bull, Hank could be "destroyed". His owners are not even allowed to visit him during the process. BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) is shit, and it should put our societies to shame. It is based on ignorance and fear. It does not work and it breaks up families for no reason. On the 14th July 2016, Hank was taken from my home by 8 police officers and 4 dog wardens. He has been condemned to die because he looks like a pitbull.
