🎄We expanded our Christmas light decor this year on the new house and I love it! I still have lots of blowmolds to put out now that the rain is taking a small break but we are almost all decorated! Do you decorate the outside of your house for Christmas? Digital#WIP for #adventchallenge_2019 that is taking longer than expected. 🙃 It's been a fun exploration of illustrating with Photoshop. Happy Monday! Decided to hop in on Hands At Work for Day 12 of #MarchMeetTheMaker hostessed by @joannehawker and share a real time vid of me painting. 💛💠 Happy March! 💠💛 Okay, we're almost a third into the month but happy birthday to March babies! My hubs searched for daffodils for my pic this morning but but no luck without driving all over. Painting daffodils with just yellow is kind of daunting and you have to get creative with shadows and vary hues & tones. Great painting exercise overall. I really want to do the raw gems for all of these but some are rather uninteresting or have complicated crystalline structures and are weird to sketch up but I may go back and give it a shot anyways for January and March. Though I'm only about 80%, I'm finally feeling creative again 👩🏼‍🎨 (and I took a shower! 🛀🏼 The struggle has been real this week friends.). This morning had me working on March Creative Club prompts and some for #DreamWeek. I love how my boundaries are pushed with weekly pop-up challenges and my creative crew's monthly challenges. They allow me to get out ideas I wouldn't otherwise put on paper and push me to explore my illustration style (aka, make people and not cringe about it 😖). I'm slowly defining my style more each week and I'm pleased that it's coming out more like what's in my head. I'm also pleased that my start with cartoons is coming round again to help my work become playful and emotive. Who knew my silly #DailyDonut guys would pay off? 😄 I'm excited to bring this mermaid and her ocean friends to life but I'm going to experiment with gouache so on to a fun kiwi painting 🥝 What pushes your creative boundaries?
