It had always been stated she could not follow him to work, due to the dangerous situations he was in. Most of the time she followed the rules, then there were the times she wanted to help. He was doing it alone, or she figured, and that wasn’t fair. Maybe there were things for her to do – she knew how to fight. However, she also knew that being at his side would only cause a distraction. It seemed logical for her to sit at the sidelines, but today – she couldn’t do that. She had to be with him. 

Sneaking around hadn’t been hard to do, except when she was caught. As always, she ended up in some sort of danger, but she refused to let her husband know. He didn’t need to know she was in the building, unless things escalated. Or well.. he found her himself, which she was really hoping wouldn’t happen.

Missy hums her way through Beethoven’s “Pathetique”, tapping her toes against the floor to keep the beat, and presses her face to the bars, draping her arms out of them.

(Galaxies away, Missy’s next regeneration stands with her hands raised and bloody. “You’re making a mistake,” she says calmly. “This is stupid. You know damn well I’ll just escape again. Don’t waste your time.” They waste their time.)

“Psssst,” she hisses, interrupting her own sonata. “Yes, you, in the cell across from me; who the hell else is in here? No one. What’re you in for? Usually these cells are reserved for really terrible people, like me. You look like you’re barely old enough to fly a TARDIS, let alone do something to scale with the people I’ve seen in here.”

A door slams open. Missy looks up towards it. An irritated woman with long, straight black hair and freckles marches haughtily down the stairs, ignoring the guards’ attempts to try to lead her. “No trial?” she asks sarcastically, as she stands in front of the cell next to Missy’s, staring at her with vague interest. “Oh, it’s you,” she says, then turns to the guards. “This is so incredibly hare-brained that I cannot believe for a second that you’re actually doing it.
