My first savoury bakes post! made beef and cheese empanadas; I had been making cuisine for a long time as per special request from someone I cook dinners for, for a very long time. So I decided to make these, especially since I could finally use my dumpling press, to help me crimp dumplings and pastries with ease. I actually found it easier to crimp these by hand, but the tool was still high quality and easy to use.
savoury wholemeal muffins
90g plain flour tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp pepper 1/3 tsp mixed herbs 1/3 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp salt egg 40ml oil 50ml milk
180°C, 20 mins makes 4 muffins
cornbread
125g plain flour 125g coarse cornmeal 2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder (or self-raising + 1 tsp) egg 230 milk 80 oil
add wet to dry 180 degrees, 20 mins

olive bread swirls
dough: 500g strong wholemeal flour tsp salt 7g sachet yeast tbsp oil 300ml warm water (<1 part warm, 2 parts cold)
filling: 100g soft cheese 100g (1/2 jar) black olives 4 pieces sundried tomatoes clove garlic 2 spring onions tsp dried herbs tbsp oil
knead dough for 5 mins, cover with cling film, rest for 1 hour or ‘til doubled in size chop up filling ingredients small, mix into paste line tray with lightly floured baking paper on floured surface, roll dough into a 30 x 40cm rectangle spread filling, roll, cut into 12 slices arrange on tray, cover with cling film, brush with oil, rest for 20 mins bake for 20 mins, 180ºC
