Trading Places | Evie&Sawyer
The bed felt a lot more spacious that morning. When Sawyer had rolled over to slam his hand over the alarm clock (he refused to keep his phone in his bedroom), he fell short of a handful of centimeters, and his smaller palm hit the pillow instead. It was only as he groaned that he realized that there was yet again something wrong with him this morning. He didn’t feel like he was compelled to do something, or starving, craving for something, but he certainly felt as though he was missing something.
New hands got a feeling of a new face, a new body, and it wasn’t long before he’d jumped out of bed and into his dressing room, to check himself out in the mirror. “Holy shit.” Now a good 30 centimeters shorter, Sawyer starred at his reflection with too much disbelief to realize anything yet. Swimming in an old tee shirt, his shorts were slipping from his hips uncomfortably. As he touched his body again, he came to slowly realize what was going on today. “Fucking… fuck.”
Tempting as it was to stay in his room until the end of the day, he’d realized he was out of coffee early on. None of his clothes fit her, or him, and Sawyer, who wasn’t used to such casual looks, stepped out in shorts and a varsity tee shirt, a pair of flip flops that were obviously too big on his feet. As he walked down to the café, he kept his nose toward the ground, trying his best to avoid anyone’s eyes.
No..this was not happening. It simply could not be happening.. Yes the magic on the island was strong, she had seen what it could do. But this? Turning her into another person? It simply wasn’t possible! Evie continued to stare at her..his..reflection in the mirror in disbelief. Gone was her pale skin and icy eyes, now replaced with intense brown eyes and..yes..that was a five o’clock shadow. Well, it was just going to have to stay there as she had no intention of doing anything she didn’t absolutely have to do. Which, unfortunately at the moment, was going to include seeing something she didn’t really want to see..
Shuffling to the toilet, Evie tentatively lifted her nightgown, eyes squeezed shut. No..no that wasn’t going to work. She’d just leave a mess on top of everything else! One eye popped open, followed by the other. As a breathless baritone ‘Ohhhhh’ left thinner lips. Head shaking, cheeks burning, Evelyn finished her business then went on to the very difficult task of finding something, anything, to fit her new frame. A shirt and shorts that Coe had left behind were hastily thrown on, then she was out the door. Maybe if she found Sawyer they could..switch things back somehow. It was certainly worth a shot..
Keeping her eyes peeled as she hurried along, Evie startled when she finally spotted, well, herself. Blinking a bit, she took a moment to get over the surreal shock of it all, before calling out. “Sawyer! It’s um, it’s Evie.. Guess we have a little situation here huh..?”
