Health Canada released a report today stating that the average Canadian consumes almost double of what the recommended daily amount of salt is for the day!!! This is huge as salt intake can lead to high blood pressure which is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Let's make a change in salt intake and put that salt shaker down and use fresh or dried herbs and spices to flavor our foods!!! We also need to look at our processed foods as 77% of salt intake comes from those foods. So read those labels and try to do some comparisons to make the healthier choice!!! One of my biggest issues is too much sodium and I don't salt my food! Yikes!
