The Shocking Truth About Salt Intake
Remember when some iceberg lettuce -- maybe with some shredded carrot and a slice of cucumber -- and dressing qualified as a salad?
This is seriously ridiculous. OMG!!! I mean, I am lost for words. Calories are ridiculous and sodium intake, just can't explain. It's better to make your own salad at home. I mean, for the calories, you gotta run a marathon and a half. Sodium intake, a whole bottle of apple cider vinegar. If I had to choose salads from these restaurants and a slice of cheese pizza, "I'll take the cheese pizza for $200, Alex."
"In one study of patients with insulin resistance, researchers found that giving around 6,000 milligrams of sodium per day as compared to 3,000 milligrams of sodium per day ameliorated their insulin resistance." ~James Dinicolantonio, The Salt Fix: Why the Experts Got It All Wrong-- and How Eating More Might Save Your Life #insulinresistancediet @drjamesdinic #saltfix #eatmoresalt #liesmydoctortoldme #sodiumintake #salttotaste #sciencebasednutrition #himalayanpinksalt #saltyourfood @deptvetaffairs @ilealexander Thank You to @kendberry.md for Blessing us with this lifesaving knowledge! Health Canada released a report today stating that the average Canadian consumes almost double of what the recommended daily amount of salt is for the day!!! This is huge as salt intake can lead to high blood pressure which is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Let's make a change in salt intake and put that salt shaker down and use fresh or dried herbs and spices to flavor our foods!!! We also need to look at our processed foods as 77% of salt intake comes from those foods. So read those labels and try to do some comparisons to make the healthier choice!!! Feel free to ask me any questions you have regarding your salt intake and how it may compare. #sodiumintake #healthcanada #takecareofyou #saynotosalt
Having less sodium in your diet may help you lower or avoid high blood pressure. People with high blood pressure are more likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke.
