So Battle Angel: Alitta or whatever the precise phrasing is clearly isn’t high cinema, but I went in with exactly zero preconceptions beyond “it’s the anime one, right?” and let me tell you, I was not dissented. Also, even beyond the vaguely sketched high concept dystopia, secretly 300-year-old teenage supersoldier, well meaning but overprotective and vaguely sinister father figure, bizarrely-central-to-society sci fi death sport, and awesome looking cyborg bounty hunters, it was actually a really decent action flick.
But all that aside, mostly posting to say “I don’t need your permission to live.” “Others might.” is a really great Superman-and-Lex-Luthor sort of line.
