Defense’s Opening Statement
A trio of unwavering defense attorneys lined up their wills against the opposing faction, the prosecution. Unwavering was perhaps a little bold to say of them, but Kaoru had a sense of confidence in their success that highlighted itself through his laughter, suddenly washing over the room right as Chika had finished her speech.
"Okay, well, enough with the stupid middle school conspiracy theories. Only a dumbass would frame themself, that kind of shit never gets you off the hook, it only stretches the trial time and pulls groans out of all our mouths, because in the end there's no evidence pointing to anyone else." He flips his hair nonchalantly, then gives the prosecution team a disinterested stare. "Of course, you're free to believe the accused is stupid enough to do that, but this is why we have a trial, right? To see if he is stupid. Me and my friends here don't think so."
With a flick of his hand, he gestures to his temporary 'teammates', softening his gaze and giving them a charming (well, mostly displaced) little wink. "My handsome classmates here have discussed this more in-depth without me, as I was deep in thought, but I want to ask you one thing--" Kaoru stops, turns to Ama and points a finger at him. His voice is suddenly an octave lower, more threatening but retaining the smoothness and charm of a man who's simply there to defend his friend. "Suzuki-yan. You say you peered through the fourth floor window and *saw* MAESTRO, but can you confirm it was him? Can you confidently say you saw MAESTRO's face, when you say you saw the culprit committing the sinful act?"
His arm retracts back to his side, and with a huff, he leaves the rest to his comrades. "I'm sure my friends here can further prove some points to go against your 'theory'."
Nakano looked from Kaoru to the courtroom, “... So. Clothing and a wig that matched similar to MAESTRO’s appearance were found in the area around the alley-way and the night club… Sure. They could of been planted by the defendant. But the percy-cution has not provided evidence as to this theory.” He shook his head, leaning on the bench. “... The firearm was also found on a guard in the carpark, and the defence has evidence as to how it ended up there…. Um… I… implore? The people of the jury and the percy-cution, not to cut corners in this case. If we don’t hear all the evidence and an innocent person is punished for this crime… thats on our hands. Not Bobobo’s.” He pulled his hat down, uncomfortable with the eyes watching.
Yumemi drew in a breath, looking now at the two of them and nodded. She could do this and she was going to prove MAESTRO’s innocence no matter what it took. “Furthermore the note that you mentioned states that the time to meet with the victim was 11:45 while the time that we discovered the body was 11:46” She looks over towards MAESTRO “considering the state that the defendant is in, possibly due to a blue pepsi smelling liquid found in his room, it would be extremely challenging to hide remaining evidence in both the carpark and nightclub in the span of a minute” She smiles a bit, thinking she did somewhat of a good job “So again I state that the defendant, MAESTRO (-san) is not the killer of the victim, Natsumi Kibo (-san) and I hope that both the jury and prosecution recognises this by the end of the trial..um thank you”
