wait am i the only one who thinks the man’s best friend album cover is kinda genius?
Astronaut James A. Lovell Jr., pilot for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Gemini-7 spaceflight, walks to the elevator at Pad 19 one hour and 40 minutes before launch of the spacecraft. Moments later astronauts Lovell and Frank Borman, command pilot, rode the elevator to the White Room where they were inserted into the spacecraft to await the final moments of the countdown.

it is hard sometimes to be unbiased when you are talking about your favorite artist, but sabrina's masterclass of thematics on man's best friend were just so incredible. everything about it.
i'll start with the elephant in the room - the album cover. i think there were a lot of presumptions about what it meant, but it was correct that she was against the situation. however, the person she is targeting with it is HERSELF. this album thoroughly reveals just how she basically reduced herself to a pet for her then boyfriend because of how much she wanted and needed company. and additionally, once her sexual appeal wore out, he lost interest in her, which left her at his feet for him to come back, but ultimately realizing that she is her own damn person, which is sabrina fucking carpenter !!!
and then next is obviously the music. and my god does it hit hard. i feel like because it is very pop forward, it might be mistaken for a hits type of album. but to me, this album takes a similar vein to ttpd in that there is a narrative with the storytelling which reveals so much of the pain and bad choices/mistakes sabrina went through - and this perfectly ties into a bow with goodbye, showing that despite everything, she grew from it and realized her self worth. it's literally so fucking perfect and has such a damn good message about not settling for someone who makes you feel electric in the moment.
i could go on and on about this but it certainly was not what i was expecting, and that's not a bad thing! also she was right. this is a man's worst nightmare, but not in the way i thought. i thought it would be a lot more angry and revealing similar to manchild, but no, it's depressing as SHIT. which, honestly, makes it all the more realistic to what actually happens and what makes the actions of men like this so cruel. it doesn't make you angry, it leaves you desolate.
but yeah. 10/10. goodbye and house tour are my current two favorites. also tears absolutely left me with my jaw on the floor LOL.
I'd Love to Sit in on a MasterClass on Satire With These Two as the Teachers
The amount of people who are convinced that they are being 100% serious in their projects and promotions only further demonstrates their talent. By playing with expectations, comedy and satire are great ways to make a statement. After all, having a little fun never hurt anyone! 😜
A "Flying Shoebox" turning final into Lake Hood
my question for you all is why does it have to be satire? god forbid a woman joke around about all the dick she gets goddamn
