Happy 96th birthday Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin ! January 20 celebrating 96th anniversary of USAF Brig General Edwin Buzz Aldrin who flew on Gemini XII (1966) and Apollo 11 (1969), accumulating 12 days 1 hour in space. This July 1969 photo shows Aldrin exiting NASA helicopter , a Bell 47G which was regularly used by Lunar Module Pilots to simulate maneuvers they would perform during final lunar landing. The Bell 47 (military version Bell H-13 Sioux) is a single-rotor single-engine light helicopter with soap bubble canopy of which 5575 were built. (Photos: NASA-KSC)
