For anyone who wonders what it is I do with myself, this is the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). It's a world-wide organization by medieval enthusiasts, for medieval enthusiasts. Here's how I describe it to different people: It's LARPing with the emphasis on history. It's like Eastern martial arts, but from the West. It's cosplay for Vikings, Germans, Saxons, Celts, Italians, Spanish, French, Ottomans, Gypsies, Visigoths, Russians, Romans, and Greeks. It's medieval, renaissance, and earlier art, music, and poetry. It's custom and court and dance. It's honor and chivalry and service and entertainment. It's acceptance and friendship and family. It's my home away from home, my relatives with out my blood. This is the SCA.
