Redesigning the idea of college campuses and dorms, is SCAD USA. This project is an ongoing one that banded a group of kids together. These young students wanted a better view of the city and thought, what better place to live than a parking garage? Good question.
Oddly enough, SCAD has proved to us that there isn’t one. With fully functional community garden and 3D printer, as well as an outdoor hang out room complete with bike stands and fireplaces, these tiny houses are crazy cool. Not only are they inventive, they’re smaller and healthier than a normal house, taking up less than a parking space. And really, who needs more room than that?
There are three of these beautiful homes, adding to the already cool campus of Savannah College AD. This project started when the students asked to live in the parking garage. And the dean being the man he is, said why not! Thus the tiny community began.
Living in a tiny house can seem hard, but you don’t have to give up anything you love! Except maybe a giant carbon footprint. Unique to the tiny house community, these houses are technologically advanced, and respond to your smartphone, certain aspects at least. You couldn’t possibly close your windows with a touch of a button. Or can you?
The answer is, yes, you can. There is a way to do that, as well as play games with you mirror. YOUR FREAKING MIRROR. Do not even tell me that isn’t cool. In addition to the smart houses with the game mirror, there are themes. There are themes to HOUSES.
Europe, Asia, and North America are the houses names, and they are true to their titles. However incredible this topic is, and I can, of course, talk about it forever, I strongly encourage you to look into this and see if your school would be willing to take the initiative to join this movement and help make the world a greener and safer place.
I’ve added the links to a couple ( mostly ) short videos talking about the scadpad movement and how it all began.

To reiterate my first question, there isn’t a better place to live. I mean, who wouldn’t want to live in a parking garage?
