My mom recently got scammed by an online store posing as a real one. This is a quick PSA to be wary of any website you order from online. Here are some warning signs:
The website is offering products at a HIGHLY reduced rate.
They offer no way to contact them. If their is only a fill out form under the Contact page, that is also a sign.
The website is poorly made.
The return policy is vague or doesn’t exist.
If the English of the site is poorly written, do not order.
If reviews seem fake or for different products.
Many more. These are just the most common, if you want to know more look up your respective countries government’s online safety website.
That’s not to say that all these signs have to be there. My mom ordered from a website that was well made, had good reviews, and good English. My mom found out about it from a Facebook ad. I know most of us are internet savvy, but if you have people in your family or friends who might not be as savvy these tips can save you and them from huge pains in the ass.
