Taylor Swift, really?
I can't find it, but there is this post going around saying that Taylor Swift is terrible and you're terrible if you listen to her because she hasn't done anything about the Trump government stealing her music for its abominable ads. It is true that other artists have done this, and it is true that she has in the past gone after people for using her music for things that are pretty harmless, like fanvids. But I don't think she's doing this out of tacit support for Trump, because she mobilised her fans to vote during the campaign when he was saying awful things about her. It is not really a secret that Donald Trump and Taylor Swift despise each other. I would like to point out that Trump hates her and she hates Trump and she has made this position known.
I also think that if she were a Trump supporter, she'd be going after ScaredKetchup, who is a political YouTuber who makes vicious anti-Trump parodies using generative AI and puts her (properly labelled as AI) actual deepfake image in many of them. Here's just one.
I'm making this non-rebloggable because a) I'm not arguing about this and b) I don't want my activity blown up with either Taylor detractors or Taylor defenders. Sorry. Do not send me asks about it either please. I'm not arguing about it.
I'm not a big fan of hers.
I just think that this argument is rather silly and am tired of having people in my feed saying that anyone who won't boycott everything that they are boycotting is a horrible ghoul feasting gleefully on the blood of innocent children.
