[Personal] Scariest Things Tag!
Personal post time! I saw this one from CutiePieMarzia's video of the same title and I thought it would be good to let out all the things that used to haunt my mind. So here we go...
Question 1: Scariest real-life experience.
It had happened 2 years ago... It was the semestral break of my freshman year in college. I can't pinpoint the exact date but I know it happened around the last week of October. It was also the time, wherein my family was planning everything we need for Todos lo Santos or the Day of the Dead. It's an important holiday here in the Philippines, where we visit our loved ones who passed away and stay in the cemetery. It happens every first 2 days of November. Some people even stay during Halloween. I was reading a book on the couch while lying down and I noticed my dog walk pass me to sit at the space at the side of the couch. A few seconds later, I felt something on my head. I felt a pressure, like someone was touching my head using their hands. I thought it was my dog , maybe he was using his chin to tell me that he wants to go outside so I reached and called his name but nothing... it was all air! I sat up immediately and everything felt cold. My dog was lying on the ground asleep. The worst part... it all happened in broad daylight...around noon.
I'm not sure if the following counts but they're scary to me...
I was in elementary when we heard that someone committed suicide by hanging in an old house in my home town. The house was a few blocks away and my dad decided to see what happened and he tagged me along. I can't remember much but all I can see when I think of this with my eyes closed is feet dangling. And I get scared every time I have to walk past that house because it really looked like a haunted house.
Another one happened when a dead, gagged body was found and the whole place wasn't sure who that person was and one of my dad's friends took a picture of it and showed it to us because we didn't got that close. It's forever burned in my mind how the body was chalky pale and the eyes almost popped and the tongue was hanging outside the mouth and the face was twisted.
This one happened again during college, I was about to open the gate because I was going to school and a man was walking while holding a knife and the back of his neck was bloody and he was pissed. A woman was following him, telling him to calm down but the man shouted that he was going to kill someone. I froze in place. I thought that if I run he might come after me so I didn't say anything. Luckily, the woman managed to calm him down and they both went home.
Question 2: Scariest paranormal experience?
So this one was told by my mom, it happened years ago when I was still a toddler. She told me that, everyday I would sit on the stairs and just talk to someone. She thought it was natural and I did so too because kids go through having imaginary friends right? Right. But what was NOT so natural about it was when my mom got curious and asked me "Who are you talking to?" I answered and pointed "Tatay! Tatay!" (father, father) and she got scared because that was what our family called my grandfather and he was dead before I was born.
Another one, was during high school days my group and I decided to head down to my best friend's house in order to do a video play project for our English class. I was outside because I had to get the cloth that we needed and from the corner of my eye I swore I saw a brown shadowy figure of a man. I thought I was seeing things because again, it was broad day light. But I got scared because my best friend's mom said something about ghost/spirits getting surprised because of the sudden increase of people in the house. And the same day, my best friend had a talking doll from the anime Mirumo de Pon. Suddenly, the doll talked and we swore that it was turned off.
I can't remember when this one happened but there was a time where I would wake up around 2:00 - 3:00 in the morning and it happened for quite some time and I didn't know why.
Question 3: Have you known anyone convicted of a violent crime?
Question 4: Are you afraid of the dark? Why or why not?
Yes. I am afraid of the dark ever since I was little because I don't know what is lurking in the dark. It could be a figment of my own imagination or not.
Question 5: Does your home-town have any scary legends?
Not really unless this one counts. All I could recall was the elementary school near my home used to be a cemetery. And every Valentine's day party a group of students would go "ghost hunting" and say that there's a floating casket and if it sees a student, it's going to go after the student and trap it inside and the student would no longer be seen.
Question 6: What's your favorite urban legend?
I don't really have one but I kinda like Slenderman.
So that's it! I feel goosebumps while I was writing this because I felt like I was opening a safe to the most repressed part of my memory.
