Wings of fire fanart - Scarlet

I didn't have the energy to draw a full-length dragon, so I could only do her head.

Scarlet is an incredibly beautiful, albeit evil, dragon. I believe that every character (even the worst) has a good and beautiful side.

I wanted to draw something symbolic, you know, for the soul.

Don't scold me for a lot of fanart of the "Wings of Fire" universe, I just need to get away from commissions and relax. I'm under a lot of stress right now, so I'm dealing with it by drawing fanarts. ________ I'm against my drawings being published somewhere (in groups or on people's personal pages) without me being identified as the author of the work. It's not your creativity, appreciate and respect people's work! Point out the sources and leave a link! I am against my drawings being outlined, copied or used in collages/edits. I forbid tokenizing my drawings!

Magic Henshin Series 05 - Scarlet Dragon

And we get to the final of the currently released MHS. They have one more revealed and upcoming that transforms into a rhino beetle, which I think I might pick up. Honestly, the biggest weakness of this set is the combined mode, so having a release that avoids that particular element and also learns from the mistakes of this line should, theoretically, be an improvement. While it has its issues, I do like this line, so I’d like to see how it improves. If it becomes a regular thing maybe pick up the occasional release like I do with BeastBox.

The Good: Once you get everyone assembled together, the combined mode is pretty solid. While the proportions are a little off, there’s quite a bit of posability, including a few usable transformation joints. I know I used a stand in a lot of shots, but she can support herself without one.

She also has a large accessory pool unique to her and not her separate releases, with a number of burst mode parts, a large scarf effect, and two sets of glasses. And she’s pretty big, which you might not expect considering how small her individual robots are.

And while I’m not the biggest fan of the concept, I will admit turning Thunder’s hands into a butt is pretty clever.

The Bad: A lot of promotional art shows a combined mode that doesn’t use Dragon, and while you can make it... It sucks. It constantly falls apart. It also lacks and instructions. It kind of feels like they realized that the original combined mode didn’t work half-way into development and Scarlet Dragon was made as a fix.

Scarlet Dragon, by itself, is also very underwhelming. The transformation is uninteresting, its joints are very stiff in a lot of places (I required a tool to move some of them at first), and it has almost no posability. It’s why I keep saying not to get it unless you want the combined mode.

As for the combined mode, it’s fine. The red set of glasses like to fall off, and its hands are pretty bad (similar issues to Scarlet Sonic), but not much else.

Overall, Scarlet Dragon is very passable, but is required if you want to combine everyone. I would honestly recommend picking your favorite girl in the lineup and trying them out individually first, rather than going all in on the combiner like I did.

Like I said before, I might pick up their rhino beetle to see how they’ve improved since this release, and I have their Mocha on preorder out of morbid curiosity, so this won’t be the last we here from this company.

Dark Angel, Scarlet Dragon  Chapter V Snippet  (From the Chronicles of House Vader Series)

Posting a snippet cuz I’m miles away from any fic being finished.

The massive electromagnetic clamps of the docking lock deactivated, and the auxiliary repulsors pushed The Wyvern away from the Executor into cold space. A squadron of TIE Sentinels formed a wide hexagon around her to clear a corridor through the ever-constant swarm of fighters, cruisers, and shuttles. Far smaller than the accompanying Star Destroyers and absolutely dwarfed by the Executor, the Wyvern still mirrored them in their wedge shape and collective majesty as she glided between them. When she reached the far perimeter of the fleet’s formation, her Sentinel escort looped and peeled away in all directions. Her hyperdrive engines fired a nova of blinding white, and the Wyvern pierced through the veil of time and space itself.

Moments later, another ship launched from the Executor. But rather than from one of the scores of bays that housed TIES and shuttles, this ship launched from Lord Vader’s personal hangar.

In the cockpit of his TIE Advanced, Vader primed the hyperdrive and set the coordinates for Dathomir. He would remain in orbit, just outside the range of the Wyvern’s scanners, slice into SCAR’s com relays, and observe from above. While he would have to shield himself not only from Lylla but from the Force-strong Night Tribe as well, he would be still able to sense her through their bond.

Despite Malgus’s insistence of her capability and his own well-feigned stance for the last month that this was Lylla’s mission, Vader never had any intention of letting her do this alone. He would intercede if she needed him.

And be witness to the outcome if she didn’t.

in the dragon’s lair - will x mal (preview)

A/n: I actually got a few “likes” on my post about having this fic nearly finished, so I decided to post a preview and see if anyone likes it. ;)

“There’s no one to blame but yourself for this one,” he scolds himself, still shaking his head as he scans the room. So she finally got her own place. Very her. Very Maleficent, what with all the purples and blues and frilly nonsense like Anastasia likes, and yet, so very not like what Anastasia likes.

“Ya shoulda learned back wif’ Silvermist. Don’t be dropping your trousers with a lady that’s magical if ya aren’t in it for the long haul. It only ever leads to trouble.” And trouble may have been putting it lightly, actually. He may have imagined quite the assorted bits of terribleness that could have come to pass from a casual, physical relationship with a self-proclaimed Mistress of sodding Evil just when both of them were feeling a little vulnerable, but this - petty jealousy - was shockingly not at the top of the list.

“Stop your whining,” she replies dismissively with an impatient roll of her eyes. She reaches for a long-stemmed goblet of what appears to be wine on the nightstand beside her bed and takes a dainty sip. “I just wanted to talk. And God knows how difficult it is to get your attention lately.” “Oh, did’ya? You usually poof men out from their bed into yours just ta talk?” “Oh, were you in bed?” She smirks. “I had no idea. Sorry about that.” Her expression deadpans. “Besides, you landed on the floor.” “Sure. I believe that. After all, I was born bloody yesterday. Just like I also believe you have all your conversations in itty nighties, seductively draped across beds,” he goes on, heated, gesturing towards the lavish arrangement of bedding and pillows.  “Seductive?” Mal raises her brows, amused, sitting up. “That sounds more like a personal problem, dear.” She takes another sip and then poofs the glass away, bored. “Countless men find me attractive, don’t think that you’re the only one.” Will responds with an impatient sound from the back of his throat, rolling his eyes dramatically upwards (because what else can he do?) and shifting in place. “Well? What did you want so bloody badly ya couldn’t just call or, ya know, not bother with it at all?” Mal hums, watching him fidget and no doubt quite enjoying herself. “A queen doesn’t call, dear, she summons.” “Right. And what’ve I been summoned for now?” Will glances towards the door unconsciously. Bloody hell, Anastasia must have noticed he was gone. She must have called for him or come out of the shower by now and seen the room was empty except for his shirt and his boots. He’s gonna have a hell of a time explaining this one, that’s for certain. “Hmm, you seem nervous...afraid your little girlfriend will notice you’re missing in the middle of the night? Oh, whatever would she think about that?” She shrugs, practically grinning in that sarcastic, smug Maleficent way that has him seething (and other things he doesn’t like to think about it). “Probably nothing. She seems the real easy-going, understanding type.”
