        jaeden understands that more than he’d like to admit. he was always considered a weird kid; the strange child who talked too much about things he shouldn’t have been able to understand... who talked too loud, too fast, unable to be quieted down. it was hard to make and maintain friendships because of it----which is one of the reasons why he began creating his videos and (eventually) his podcast; it was a way to say what he wanted without the commitment. 

        still, hearing it come from someone else’s mouth... it squeezes his heart and presses a frown to his lips. humans were the cruelest creatures in the galaxy, he’s certain of that. “ why not ? ” he questions with a cock of his head. if there’s one thing in the world he’s learned, it’s that kindness, even shown in the simplest form (such as talking to someone) can really go a long way. “ i’ll talk to you... if ye want. ”

      Unfair, absolutely unfair. It really was turning into a one-thing-after-another kind of day for her. Who even heard of meting out punishment a month after an alleged crime? It was like somehow they just knew she was having a bad time and were determined to make it all the worse. Grell was practically fuming as she rode the lift down to the Records Hall, arms tightly crossed over her chest. She barely gave Edmund a nod of acknowledgment before she was down at what she’d designated as her personal work spot when she had to come down to work with him. Eventually her rage would dissipate again, but this time she didn’t know just how much was anger and how much was actually just hurt.

      ❝  Is that ALL you’ve got  ?  ❞  Sometimes as humans were wanting to live  ,  they reduced themselves to the STRANGEST ways of bargaining  .  Really  ,  he always thought that the general idea of bargaining with Death was typically an idea that was frowned upon  .  Couldn’t say he reallyBLAMED them  .  Death was someone with power  ,  &. power often FRIGHTENED humans more  .  If there was one thing he knew  ,  fear was apowerful motive for humans to have  .

     “Technically I was kidding, I don’t think anyone can really bargain with Death, can they? Or has that ever happened effectively?” she asked, watching him curiously. If she died then that would be accepted, but she knew she still would’ve preferred to live. Even so, she was mostly curious about him, he wasn’t at all what she’d pictured Death being like.

     Did he truly ever try  ?  He never felt like he did  ,  or at least  ,  he NEVER felt like he never had even when he was trying to do something  .  Now  ,  he was trying to just find a new lead singer because that wasn’t his thing  .  Yet  ,  it just seemed to blow up in his face  .  He just leaned back into the plush sofa, eyes shutting before he rubbed his face, showing signs of stress.       ❝  I can’t do the singing anymore  ,  Chase  .  It’s not me. I just can’t.  ❞

     Chase was seated beside him, definitely a little worried from the waves of stress that just seemed to roll off him. He settled back a little, hand gently going to Edmund’s back for a moment. “Hey, it’s alright. It’s cool if you don’t wanna do it, we’re in this together. I think you’ve done a great job already on your own, but you don’t have to put yourself through all this shit either.”
