Joe was adjusting her cuff when she heard the question. It almost made her smile too but she caught it before clearing her throat and pushing up her glasses, moving to come up her girlfriend for the dress.

“You know…” She said softly, fingertips lightly tracing the spine and smirked upon the reaction as her fingers found the zipper, “I know what you’re to do… and it’s not going to work.” She added coyly, moving the zipper to close slowly and upwards her girlfriend’s back.

Leaning closer as her hand made its way to the top, Joe looked at the mirror in amusement. “I’m still pretty ticked off at you,” she replied before kissing the ear lightly then smiling at their reflection, “however, you do look amazing in this dress. It’s a shame we have to do to this thing.”

It wasn’t easy, in fact, it was extremely difficult and experience had long since taught Rachel that lesson but that knowledge didn’t stop her from trying to suppress the shiver that wanted to race up her spine behind Joe’s fingertips. 

She failed. Again. But it was still a victory in her eyes --even if Joe called her out on her attempted subterfuge-- because Joe had touched her and that’s what she wanted. She wanted to put their silly little argument behind them and move on. Preferably without her having to apologize. 

Of course there was such a thing as too much of a good thing and the all-to-brief brush of Joe’s lips against her ears had Rachel seriously reconsidering the no apology portion of her plan.

But Joe’s follow up gave Rachel fresh hope that she could get her better half to break first.

“You like?” She asked, twirling on the tips of her toes to show off her dress and the generous expanse of leg it displayed. She ended her spin by balancing herself against Joe, head tilted back so she could stare into her girlfriend’s eyes. “You know, we do have some time to spare...” She whispered, her eyes dipping to Joe’s lips before flicking back up.

[Rachel]: I highly doubt that is the case, Quinn. After all, in order to get a teaching degree, one must go to college and earn all the right credentials to reach such a position.

[Quinn]: Then how do you explain our Spanish teacher knowing next to nothing about Spanish?

“You’re telling me, you want to make out with me to make the person you’re crushing on jealous?” Frida leans against the wall, eyes cast out onto her bakery, watching the party like a queen looking over her city. Today is the anniversary of her bakery’s grand opening, and, with the help of her employees, she decided to invite the whole street to a night of alcohol, pastries, and good company.

“That sounds so... high school.” Frida hasn’t been with anyone in a while, perhaps maybe years, so she admits the other person’s proposition intrigues her. She doesn’t even remember the last time she’s made out with someone. She’s been so focused on the bakery’s success that relationships have taken the backseat. “What’s in it for me?” Her voice is light and teasing, making sure they know she’s interested. It’s her party and her bakery’s anniversary, after all, so why not let loose for one night?

One sculpted eyebrow arched in amusement. A smirk stretched across Santana’s lips as she settled back into her spot on the couch, wriggling into the cushion with an almost childish glee with her arms stretched out to either side to claim as much space as she could. “So? It’s not like you can avoid it forever. Might as well get it over with now”

Santana rolled her eyes –both physically and verbally– as she sat on the back of the couch, folding her arms low on her chest. “Yeah, that be a hella lot more believable if a, I didn’t know you, b, couldn’t list ten times I had to save your ass off the top of my head without breakin’ a sweat and, c, didn’t ahve a track record as long as my arm of telling you ‘i told you so’ when shit goes sideways just likes I told you it would.”

She was –but would never admit– exaggerating slightly. Evie wasn’t as bad as Santana was making her out to be but she wasn’t exactly as able to keep herself out of trouble as Evie was making it out to be either. 

And Santana had a soft spot for the blonde so if a little tough love kept her safe and sound, a little tough love was what Santana would give her. 

“Do you even know what it is you’re getting yourself into?”

“Not that I disagree-” Quinn shook her head as she continued to flip through the magazine she’d been reading before Henri’s arrival, “-but I’m pretty sure that last one doesn’t count.” She turned another page before marking her place with a finger, then turned towards the other woman. “And just for the record, you didn’t poison her, right?”

(Aww, it’s for any muses for you. I only got Quinn and Rachel to play long and a bunch of OC’s)

Quinn tried to hide the amusement from her face; to hide the ever-present smile off her lips, to stop the bubble of a chuckle threatening to escape her, to show that she was enjoying this. It wasn’t cruel but amusing to witness and watch Rachel scramble and juggle between her hand-eye coordination and the goal to get her character to jump to safety. A simple situation that she could not help not to cherish because this was Rachel who was trying to enjoy what she enjoyed,this was Rachel who was trying something new and outside of her interest, and this was Rachel who was trying to keep her character alive but failed miserably.

Raising her eyebrows and pushing up her glasses, Quinn made sure she wasn’t just about to burst into laughter when eventually (though, inevitably) Rachel asked her question and seemingly gave up. “Because… you asked we do something different and… I thought this is different,” she reasoned with a small smile, moving closer to Rachel. She reached and placed the controller on the coffee table before hugging the girl. “We can always do karaoke again, though.”

Rachel turned back to the tv where her character had magically returned alive and intact to the last save point, both to aide her decision and to hide the flush of pink colouring her cheeks thanks to Quinn’s hug. She always blushed when Quinn hugged her. Not that she was complaining because Quinn hugs were some of the best; if anything, Rachel would have been content to spend the rest of the night in the blonde’s arms but she wasn’t going to admit that. 

“No,” She said, head rocking gently side to side in concession as she pulled away from the blonde to retrieve the controller from the table, “I did ask you if we could do something new tonight so it’s only fair that we see it through.”

She turned a quick smile to Quinn, her lips already tightening into a determined line as she turned back to the TV. “Besides, Rachel Berry does not quit and I am going to get to the end of this level if it kills all three of us.” She nodded towards the screen in front of them to indicate their third. “Now this time, little mister pixel man, when I tell you to jump, jump the right way.”
