Updated an old model and I’m so so pleased with how it turned out. 1:24 scale, most everything constructed from scratch out of bristol board or foam core. Can’t wait to start my next model, but I can’t decide what I want to make - my head says corner store but my heart says strip club ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
~* I live a few blocks from the actual house I based this on and it is not nearly this run down, sometimes they even grill out front *~
Started on a new project today.
Thought I'd share this little diorama I made! It's a house in San Francisco. This one sold but I'm working on another even more complicated one! Check out the SpookyHaus Art Co-op for other cool stuff in the meantime.
I made another miniature house diorama! I stepped it up a notch with this one and I'm very proud of it. It's more dimensional and more detailed than the last one, and I did a painting of Sutro Tower in the background!
Made from mat board, paper, cardstock, transparency, gesso, and gouache paints, in a cardboard jewelry box. This piece is still available at the Spookyhaus Etsy shop, and commission info at njbice.com
The Boss of it All by Lars von Trier.
A production of von Triers comedy at Linnateatteri designed by me.
Some making of and model pics and a promo picture of the finished set (taken by Otto-Ville Väätäinen).
Finally doing some scenic design again! It felt great to jump into sketch modeling and I'm excited to make decisions and refine this design.
This is for the Revolutionists by San Francisco playwright Lauren Gunderson at American Conservatory Theater's Costume Shop Theater, produced, designed, and directed by this year's class of fellows.
Keep up with this project here:

The King’s speech set has reached the stage. Rehearsals start on Monday. Still much to do but all the big set pieces are ready and in place on stage. I’ve been going through the different sets with my assistant and planning preliminary placement for furniture and such.
I’m looking forward to rehearsals. The planning stage of the production has stretched over a so long time that I’m really excited about the actors getting involved.
