Any tips for musicals? This is my first to program (tho I acted in one 2 years ago)
Abuse pallets, make tons of focus, colour, beam and use presets. You going to want all your show data at your fingertips. use the hell out of the scene function so you can mark up your cues. Go to tab 4 (Direct Selects) to view banks of your pallets, for more info see this article: https://www.etcconnect.com/WebDocs/Controls/EosFamilyOnlineHelp/en/Content/10_Palettes/PALETTES.htm?tocpath=Palettes
ALSO GO TO SETUP -> DEVICE -> FACE PANEL AND DISSABLE THE GM!! You 100% do not want to hit "blackout" or nudge the fader mid show.
I mainly do this before a show:
Prepare pallets before the show, for your intelligent fixtures make some basic colour pallets best to go to the colour picker in Eos (tab 27) and then select "standard colors" at which point use a group to select all of your RGB+ fixtures and the record one pallet for each colour so Red, Green, Orange, etc… best to record the fully saturated colours to save space, you should start at pallet 1 so you have access to these first, I leant this from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOV8Vn4rewE
Group my fixtures, I mainly do this by where they are so if I had some RGB pars on LX1 I would call it "RGB Pars | LX1" etc… I would also group by fixtures depending on how quickly you need access to them. For fixtures you use a lot best to use a smaller number as to save keystrokes you don't want you most used profiles on group 100 something.

Also update your Eos fam console to its latest version: https://www.etcconnect.com/Eos-Software/
This is a very small amount of what I do to prep for a show and everyone's programming style is different so don't take this as 100% what you should do, this is just the minimum I do for a show.
