Cinnamon scented pinecones VS. Migraine sufferers...
To the retailers that sell those godawful overly strongly cinnamon scented pinecones once Fall and Winter come around...
Could you PLEASE not, or just put them outside? Please remember that you have customers AND ESPECIALLY employees who suffer from legit migraines.
Those pinecones are INSTANT migraine triggers for pretty much EVERY single fellow migraine sufferer I've spoken to. It's not that the smell itself is bad, cinnamon does smell nice in very small doses. But when it's super concentrated like it is on those pinecones, it acts as a SEVERE irritant the moment it gets into our sinuses and hits our bloodstream. One of the quickest ways for one of us to be sideblinded and on the floor with severe entire body migraine pain.
I already suffered from one of the WORST migraine attacks I had ever had about two weeks ago, where I ended up passing out at work on the register, shaking and drooling and completely unable to walk on my own. I am scared shitless that that might happen again because corporate thinks it's a GOOD idea to have that stuff right up front by the registers.
And yes, I DID quickly tell my stores assistant manager that those pinecones need to go elsewhere. He was there helping me out when I passed out from the last migraine attack. He KNOWS what a serious migraine attack can look like now. My department manager also suffers from them, and SHE plans on talking to him as well.
