I KNEW this book was calling to me for a reason.
As usual, I was browsing the book section at work, and saw that our book vendor had put THIS book, āThe Orphan Collectorā, by Ellen Marie Wiseman, on the shelf for sale. I had no idea what it was about, but the cover caught my eye and you just KNOW when something tells you were there in the aisle for a specific reason, and that YOU are supposed to read this specific book for a reason.
I couldnāt afford to buy the book that day, so I quickly checked Libby and Hoopla to see if my library coop had an ebook version.
The answer was nope.
HOWEVER, we have THIRTEEN veryveryVERY active and much loved libraries in our libraries coop here in Polk County. And they have their own app! So I checked their app to see if one of the 13 had a PHYSICAL copy, and Lakeland had it! So I put it on hold, to have it sent to the Bartow library.
And I was able to finally pick it up two days ago. Had to wait until TODAY to start reading it, though, as I needed to finish The Wastelands, by Stephen King.
But like I said, sometimes books call out to you for a reasonā¦
and the reason for The Orphan Collector?
VERY relevant to whatās going on in todays climate here in the US. But with German immigrants, AND a pandemic / epidemic, the Spanish flu of 1918. So historical fiction. Fiction based on history.
To our stores book vendor⦠thank you. š
