 Scentee's Hana Yakiniku uses food-scented cartridges that plug into your smartphone to release different food smells.

Cartridge scents include, coconut, corn soup, cinnamon roll, barbecued meat, short ribs, and bizarre collection of others.

The goal is to help people stay true to their diets by letting people smell and imagine that they're eating unhealthy foods and actually eat something healthier at the same time.

Restaurant Smell-O-Vision?

Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz of the triple Michelin-starred Spanish restaurant Mugaritz is reinventing the restaurant menu.  He's letting people sample his dishes through sights as well as smell with the help of a smartphone attachment called Scentee.

Scentee is a small balloon-shaped device that attaches to the headphone jack of most iOS and Android phones. It promises a "4D communication experience" which can receive scented Facebook and email notifications, and also act as an alarm clock.

Restaurant patrons looking through the menu will receive a corresponding burst of tentalizing fragrance from the Scentee attachment -- might this entice you to try new foods?

Scentee: ruiken met je smartphone

Onze oosterse vrienden hebben namelijk de Scentee op de markt gebracht, een accessoire die met behulp van een app een bepaalde geur de lucht in spuwt. Het is mogelijk om de Scentee te koppelen aan je wekker, zodat je elke ochtend wakker wordt van een geur waarmee jij je bed wel uit wil komen. Het is ook mogelijk om dit kleine apparaatje te koppelen aan een notificatie. Als je bijvoorbeeld een Whatsapp krijgt zal je smartphone een odeur verspreiden. 

Deze smartphone-accessoire wordt wereldwijd verstuurd, dus ook wij nuchtere Nederlanders kunnen van deze geweldige uitvinding gebruik maken. Voor elke geur is er een aparte capsule verkrijgbaar met elk ongeveer honderd sprays. Een losse capsule kost €3,70 en het apparaatje dat de geur verspreidt kost je €50,00.
