Some people don't like being told how strong they are when they have no choice but to endure, and you shouldn't have to be. You shouldn't have to be strong or resilient. You shouldn't have to worry about the things you worry about, or fear the things you fear, or endure the things you endure. But it's an incredible feat that you do push on despite it. I hope someday you won't have to be this strong anymore. I hope someday you can just be comfortable.

things ive found help me personally to manage my mental health:

speaking out loud to myself to lay out the realities of a situation and remind myself that excessive worrying will not fix it and talk myself down from anxiety/obsessive thoughts

speaking out loud to myself to lay out my intentions to myself (ex. we are going to play one more game of solitaire and then we can check on that other thing) to encourage myself to stay on track rather than get stuck in place, the way i might lay out the next few steps for a child so theyre prepared to transition from task to task

keeping a collection of posts, songs, etc that make me cry so i can manually induce a good cry when i need to release those emotions

having designated low-effort activities for times when i need to get myself off the computer/phone but still relax (solitaire, doodling, etc)

having a designated art medium that i can use to doodle freely and aimlessly without feeling pressured to make something Good (with pens or markers or pencils i find myself in Artist Mode but with crayons i dont place that same pressure on myself)

keeping a log of "accomplishments" to remind myself that im not wasting my time doing absolutely nothing. doesnt have to be big things, can be as simple as making art or reading or going for a walk or watching/listening to something new

(in high school a teacher had us do something similar: write down three good things that happened in the past day. this trained us to look out for positive things and notice them)

sharing achievements im proud of with my friends, even if its something small. makes me acknowledge that i did something + receive positive reaction from friends for doing it (+ also helps to share the positivity. i always feel good when i hear other peoples happy news)

forcing myself to make art when i feel a depressive spiral coming on, which acts as a distraction, a creative outlet, and a feeling of accomplishment for having made something with my hands

making myself sit in different spots once in a while since i usually sit in the same place
