Where do you go looking forward new wines? I paddled down the Russian River looking for some new wineries. And I found one! Scherrer Winery in Sebastopol kept coming up as a recommendation by other wineries so I took the plunge and bought a few bottles of their 2014 Russian River Pinot Noir. A beautiful wine, and not showing its age even a bit. The color was on the lighter side but it was bursting with aroma. Classic Russian River Pinot - of course bright cherry but also mushroom, forest floor, tea, spices.
