Tongariro Alpine Crossing, 1st of February. This day was full of every single emotion. Excitement at the beginning of the 19.4km long track, joy about the stunning views, frustration and exhaustion ”walking” or rather crawling up the insanely steep Mt. Ngauruhoe aka Schicksalsberg from the Lord of the Rings, and relief at the end of the track to be finished. Including the extra 3km up and down the vulcano, it took us 11.5 hrs to do the whole track. What a day!!
