Daniel's power isn't less interesting than Max's
I think telekinesis is a perfect fit for Life is Strange 2 because unlike Max who's a young adult with a better sense of who she is and what she’s capable of, Daniel is literally still a kid trying to figure out his own limits and what he actually wants for himself. His power sounds really plain on paper (like you'd think it's just about lifting some damn rocks) but since it's handed to a kid who's still trying to find himself and has all this massive potential that hasn't been unlocked yet, it becomes really unpredictable. And that makes the uncertainty of his future feel even heavier for the player: it makes you really want to step in and help him find his footing so he can figure out how to use those new skills the right way. I'll elaborate...
Every one of us started as a child, and back then our brains were wired to master anything if we had the right person guiding us. We were all essentially little superhumans with versatile potential for things like languages, music or sports. But the thing is, those skills stay locked away if nobody actually guides us. Without that help from the adults around us, all that talent just stays on pause and we end up stuck with only what we managed to learn on our own.
In that similar manner, Daniel’s prone to want to learn stuff from people around him and his power is ridiculously versatile, allowing him to handle many tasks in countless ways: he can do concentrated telekinetic attacks, summon a forcefield, cause explosions in all different sizes, bend even the sturdiest materials, steer moving objects, create twirls or little tornadoes around him, levitate people and things, control someone else's body and even do really intricate tasks like repairing that tiny ship inside a glass bottle at his grandparents' house. His power adapts to many situations, much like how children can grow into any role or talent they pursue. Children are born to be jacks of all trades.
In the first game, Max’s rewind power was all about her being insecure and wanting to fix her mistakes. She wanted to undo every wrong move in her life until she finally realized she had to just own her choices like a responsible adult. In the second game, the power represents a raw potential a kid has within. It shows that if he has the right person looking out for him (like Sean), Daniel can be as adaptable as his powers are and could literally become anything he sets his mind to.
I really loved the part in episode 5 where Daniel used his power to build statues with Joan in Away. It's such a short bittersweet moment that showed his creativity before the shit hit the fan. It got me thinking that Daniel might even dream of becoming a constructor in the future. But his path is his to forge and he has the freedom to shape his destiny however he chooses.
trick r' treat!
Happy Halloween, friend! Since I know you’re a fellow fan of both Supernatural and Teen Wolf, here’s a snippet from a superwolf fic I may or may not finish before I die 🎃 This little snippet happens right after Stiles has to save Derek from being killed by Dean.
“I thought I was too late.”
“But you weren’t. You saved me, just like you always do, “ the werewolf says.
The kid perks up at that. “Damn straight, my damsel in distress. Now kiss your prince charming.”
The werewolf shifts and Dean thinks he’s going to knock the kid off his lap, but he doesn’t. He leans forward and he…oh. He kisses him. He kisses him and the kid just attacks him with his mouth and the werewolf pulls him in close, hands roving up and down his back.
Dean stands there transfixed until the kid starts grinding down on the other man and Sam lets out an awkward cough that has them pulling apart abruptly, as if they just remembered that they weren’t alone.
The werewolf, of all things, has the decency to look sheepish, but the kid gets off his lap and glares daggers at Dean and Sam. “I can’t believe you almost fucking killed my boyfriend,” he says to Dean. “And to think you used to be my favorite character.”
Let’s play trick or treat!

Writing a crossover SPN/TeenWolf were Stiles is Dean son is also seen Dean becoming what John never was.
I'm having fun.
Matt Sweeney and Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's collaboration, Superwolf, was released on 25 January 2005.
Sweeney had played guitar in Will Oldham's touring band for a few years, and Oldham encouraged Sweeney to write songs, providing the music to Oldham's lyrics.
Superwolf was named by Pitchfork as one of the best albums of 2005, and Spin named Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Matt Sweeney's collaboration as one of "Rock's 25 Greatest Team-ups."
