I've been following the schipperke hoarder situation in Oregon. It's really fucking sad, but the Midwest Schipperke Rescue is working really hard on the dogs that have so far been released to them. They've got one dam and her litter of puppies that now all seem to have canine herpesvirus, which has a really high mortality rate. The breeder who is fostering them is trying really hard to save them all, only one puppy has died so far.
There are also 8 other older puppies and a young adult that another foster has been working to rehome. They are all very cute and apparently doing well. Lots of black and tans too, which is kind of neat (not a standard accepted colour).
If you live in OR, WA or northern CA and you'd be interested in fostering or adopting a schipperke from this situation, you should apply through their Facebook group. There will be another 45 dogs coming through the rescue once the legal case releases them from the shelter, which means they will need to find lots more homes.
