The MP40 sub-machine gun was frequently referred to in UK comics of this period as a Schmeisser. It had also been called this by the allied forces during WW2. Hugo Schmeisser was a gun designer responsible for weapons such as the MP18 and StG 44 however he did not design the MP40. I understand the naming mix-up was due to the Schmeisser name being stamped on the straight magazine (which he had designed and patented).
