Eventually, she worked up the nerve to approach the opposite end of the table, clearing her throat to get the attention of the girl sitting there. “I’m sorry,” she murmured, taking care to keep her voice down, “but do you know where they house the encyclopedias here? I’ve walked up and down all the shelves a dozen times, but I just can’t find them.”
