Drew @schnetzle ‘s Vincent for their DTIYS challenge on instagram. Will be posting it there soon too, but here he is! I’ve never really drawn body hair before (especially not facial) but I’m proud of how it and the lighting turned out. Love this lad and I hope schnetzle gets to play him again soon!
Modern widomauk for @schnetzle
More modern widomauk lalala...
Mollymauk isn't a student ("functionally illiterate", remember?) he's a townie who works part-time at one of those bookstores that's also a coffee shop also a craft beer joint also has a book club in the back on Wednesday nights and has a small stage for slam poetry and shitty open mic performances. He's only had the job for about two weeks and didn't care for it much until he noticed a certain frequent customer...
--
Mollymauk's eye is caught by the scruffy, bundled-up man with the red-brown hair as he enters the bookshop not far from closing time. He'd been lounging against the counter, watching the clock, but now he watches the red head. Blue eyes flash as he realizes he's being watched then flick away self-consciously from the clerk's welcoming smirk. "Good evening!" Molly chimes, but the red head ducks into the history section.
A few minutes to closing time, he sidles up to the counter quickly and slides a battered paperback from the used section forward. Molly rings it up and purrs “A big two dollars and ninety six cents, please.”
The redhead pulls two bills and some coins from a worn leather change purse. “Two and twenty fife, fifty, sefenty fife, eighty fife, ninety, ninety one...”
Mollymauk watches him count in an adorable German accent, holding very still trying not to express his delight.
“...Ninety zix.”
Molly tears off the receipt from the carbon pad and as soon as it’s in hand, the redhead turns on his heel and practically bolts from the place having never made eye contact again, but the bloom on his cheeks betrayed him.
“Come again soon!” Molly called after him. Once the door shut he chuckled as the manager, a middle-aged woman with thick, red glasses started turning off the lights.
“Professor Widogast." She nodded toward the door. “Regular customer. Don’t scare him off.”
Mollymauk grins. “I assure you that was the last thing I was trying to do.”
