I think all the time about how both the Avatar shorts "Bending Battle" and "School Time Shipping" tease Zutara, especially the latter, with Zuko being one of Katara's suitors and the most heartbroken at the end, and Katara choosing the Blue Spirit. And the show has made this exact joke before about Zuko and the Blue Spirit being separate characters, with the Ember Island play depicting the Blue Spirit saving Aang from Zuko.

And in-story the Blue Spirit represents Zuko's duality and his inability at the beginning of the story to reconcile the fractured parts of his identity, so he uses the Blue Spirit to do things that he is not free to do as Zuko.

The Blue Spirit is also linked to water and the moon, which both symbolize change and hidden desire.

Am I saying that "School Time Shipping" implies that The Blue Spirit represents Zuko having a hidden crush on Katara? Yes, yes I am.

BTW, the joke at the end of the "School Time Shipping" short is a reference to the "she loves my alter ego" trope, i.e., Peter Parker loves Mary Jane while Mary Jane only has eyes for Spider-Man.

Of course, all of this is subtext, but it's fun to play with.

After watching "School Time Shipping" I was just like "WHY DONT WE SEE THEM AT THE BALL?? I WANT TO SEE HOW THEY WILL DRESS", so, I decided to solve myself the problem.

I tought it didn't fit to Smellerbee's character to draw her in a dress, also I think one can be feminine without wearing a dress and a woman doesn't have to always wear a dress for an event. I just thought she was perfect like this. And Longshot looks like... a prince ?? Sorry I'm fangirling.

It was just so cool to draw them dancing, I gonna do it again!
