Key Supplies & Tips Depending on Your Learning Style(s)

***There are plenty of tips out there, these are just a few ones I listed. Please know you can always mix methods up, don't just stick to the category that you resulted under. Try new things!
Highlighters, colored pens, and gel pens
Post-it notes, get multiple colors.
Colorful dividers in their binder to remember where everything is at instantly.
Maps, charts, diagrams, models, or pictures
Planner to write directions/steps down
Write out checklists of needed formulas, commonly misspelled words, etc.
Write down material on slips of paper and move them around into proper sequence. (Can be done on PC too)
Use the chalkboard/whiteboard to note important information
════╡Aural (audio/music)/Verbal (Linguistic)╞════
Text Audio reading/writing stites
Use sites like Youtube to better understand a listen
For flashcards use Quizlet to hear the terms being said
Voice recording app → if you need to brainstorm ideas talk about them
Engage in conversation about the subject matter
Ask for oral summaries of material
Have them put the material to a rhythm or tune and rehearse it aloud → this can really increase memorization.
Reciting things out loud.
════╡Physical (Hands-On)╞════
Write out checklists of materials to be learned or looked for
Trace words and diagrams on paper
Use textured paper and experiment with different sizes of pens, pencils, and crayons to write down information
Use role-play or dramatize concepts. Students can move objects around to dramatize a concept or act out the concept themselves.
Envision a scene in which the material to be learned is being used or acted out somehow. For example, you could imagine being a character in a novel.
Take notes (on paper, word processor, in textbooks) while reading or listening.
Use some form of body movement (snapping fingers, pacing, mouthing ideas) while reciting the material to be learned.
You can even implement hand signals as indicators of what terms mean.
════╡Logical (mathematical)╞════
Break down the material into smaller segments and find what links them together.
Look for the patterns and relationships between bits of information to maximize your understanding.
Relate patterns in the material to patterns you see in real life. If you have a personal experience that mirrors that pattern it will help you make sense of it.
Use your class notes and rewrite them to line up topics sequentially—especially helpful if your professor jumps from topic to topic during lectures. You can also list or number these.
Use charts, graphs, and outlines. Organize them based on the relationships/sequences you see.

Work with friends/Groups.
Be in a study group/Have a study buddy.
Talk out/share your ideas with someone to get you thinking.
Make sure to spend most of your studying time with someone to help you learn, share, and experience.
════╡Solitary (Intrapersonal)╞════
Pick a place to study where you feel comfortable. Try to be somewhere that isn’t around friends because it is harder to focus.
Keep a set of earplugs/headphones or earbuds. (if you find outside noise distracting)
Play music that is quiet or even white noise through earphones if there is outside noise.
Make an agenda/To-do list.
Watch videos or listen to podcasts on a topic to deepen your understanding.
Make outlines, flashcards, graphs, charts, diagrams or drawings that allow you to plan and organize
