I got to the point where the anime ends, finally. I didn't expect so many things to be edited, and I was pleasantly surprised at how serious the manga is. We'll see how it continues...

Ali: So, this anime is already extremely pretty, I love how crisp everything looks like. And we are starting with this girl, who I assume stayed up long into the night reading manga and eating unheathy snacks and now she didn’t wake up on time for school. I hope that’s true, because then I can already deeply relate to her! 

And she seems to be quite adorable too, sleeping with a cute bear, and I guess that lovely backpack with tiny wings belongs to her too.

I suppose this is a school dorm? And whoever is her roommate really likes music and is way more organized than this girl here, judging by how they are already up and even neatly folded their sleeping thingies.

Ali: oh my god, yea, the cognitive dissonance was high as hell. Although, I do want to say again that part of why I was suspicious is because I felt like people were taunting me. I think that if I didn’t watch Madoka before (which also started as cute girls being magical girls and then it wrecks you) and if people weren’t like “You gonna like it, hehe”, “you will see, hehe” and stuff like that, I would be much less suspicious of everything. 

BUT IT MANAGED TO LULL ME INTO FALSE SENSE OF SAFETY ANYWAY! Around the moment Yuki goes to the classroom for the first time, I was like “Okay, Ali, you are just being weird, everything is perfectly normal, and you feel on edge because you are making stuff up in your mind”. Buuuut then she gets up and there is that awful stuff on the board and all kinds of alarms went off in my head.

I think the biggest thing that got me on the track of theory I made that ended up being true was Mii’s behaviour. I could not put it into words, but there was something really weird about how she was just busting into the classrooms. I kept thinking to myself “That’s very rude, but she seems to be very nice and polite!” 

Also, you may be interesting in the fact that I forced Jean to watch that first episode too and wrote down how it went:

Ali: She is awesome! She just seems extremely likable character. Easily excited by everything, happy most of the time, nothing brings her down. She can find fun everywhere she goes. And even thought every now and then she says something to somebody that’s a bit rude or mean, you can tell she doesn’t mean it and she only means well all the time.

Well, of course all that is a bit overshadowed by the problem she has... I feel a bit umcofortable saying “she can find fun wherever she goes!” when I know that it goes way further than where it should stop. 

But I can’t wait to learn more about her, and I already have a strong urge to protect her at all cost, so, please, anime, don’t hurt her.

Ali: I am genuiely so sorry for how it went! I should have started a hour earlier, but I thought I will have enough time. 

At the time I did suspect that some Big Reveal is about to come in just few seconds and knowing that I have only like 5 minutes left, I decided it’s for the best to pause and continue when I will have time to actually talk about it. Luckily I had time the next morning so things didn’t go too bad.

And really, me and revenge? I AM HERE TO BE TORTURED FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT!

Ali: OH, OBVIOUSLY! ALL CUTE, SWEET, ADORABLE GIRLS, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT FINE AND OKAY HERE!

What? Zombies? What zombies? I don’t see any zombies, those guys are just playing soccer or something. Everything is perfectly fine and okay and it’s not like I am still totally miserable thinking about this show, no, sir, not at all!
