Back when I got my associates degree, I was asked in my last session of i wanted an associates in general science, or one in arts. I said I was planning on pursuing music, and my backups were also along an art pathway enough to justify an associates degree in the arts. After way too much hassle to actually receive my degree in the mail, it arrives as an associates in general science. Did some digging, and that's what the counselor who discussed this with me put me down for (I qualified for both which is another story). Now I'm looking into continuing my education and getting a degree in either fashion design or theater costuming. Both degrees in the colleges within my means require and associates in arts. I am so angry. My only hope is that I can transfer enough credits that I will only need one class at most to complete the associates and move on to the BA. But for crying out loud, the counselor herself told me the arts associates was a better fit for me and she still messed it up. Honestly, there's so many things she screwed up on me that I really shouldn't have been surprised.
