This morning I felt like rocking a butch look to work. I get nervous on days like these but felt much better once I bumped into my CIS coworker that decided that he felt like wearing a dress today. He does it to help support me, my trans coworker and our trans students. David Hogg is angry. I’m pretty sure he’ll be angry on @60Minutes tonight, because he went straight from his interview with me Tuesday to tape it nearby, While I stayed and got to know his (really interesting) parents. He’s very angry, but I’m going to show you another side of him in my next @vanityfair piece this week. . This pic is Wednesday, at the spontaneous rally after their #schoolwalkout, which he live-streamed and posted on his youtube page, youtube.com/DavidHogg1. (I wish I’d known that when I wrote my VF story on it! His sister Lauren showed me a clip on her phone, but I didn’t get to watch it over and over to capture all the details. Of course that would have just made my story later. haha.) . That’s Lauren with him, a freshman who lost four friends. Hard to even imagine what that’s like. (It happened in the freshman building, so the youngest kids took it hardest.) She’s a really sweet girl. I hope she can get past it (relatively) soon. Nobody gets over it easily.
