I had an accidental cat acquisition once, and by accidental I mean I carried her in my coat everyday when I went out so she wouldnt freeze, let her in my room to sleep every night and also kept her fed and hydrated; and by acquisition I mean my parents came into my room to say goodnight and saw a cat asleep on my face. Turns out they couldn't say no to the small furry burger stealer, she was just left by someone when they moved out of the neighborhood

accidental cat acquisitions are surprisingly high!! you’d be surprised how many cats adopt people instead of the other way around

about uhhHHHH five or six years ago on easter a cat showed up on my back porch and decided he lived there now and wouldn’t leave!! I named him Schrodinger because I was a teenager and also because it was always a gamble if he’d still be there in the morning (he always was) and we called him Schrodie for short

one day it was hardcore storming and?? i think there might have been a tornado watch? and i was going to go in the basement (because my room was down there) and then was like WAIT SCHRODIE and my mum was all “i’m sure he’s gone” but nope he was huddled under one of the chairs outside and looked so sad so I brought him in and put him in my room bless his heart

we couldn’t keep him because he didn’t get along with my old man cat, Sox - who at the time was an indoor-outdoor cat until later he became indoor only - and when Sox when out Schrodie would try wrestle with him and Sox was old and not having it so we took him to the vets to see if he had a chip or anything (no chip, not neutered, they concluded he was just a very friendly stray) and from there he went to the shelter where I volunteers and they named him Hunter and I got to chill with him on weekends until he was adopted ;v;

i’m sure your cat is very glad that you decided to bring her furry burger stealer ass inside that night and her old people are missing out !!
