number 2 from a.f. johnson’s One Hundred Title-pages 1500 * 1800 [bodley head, london, 1928]: Hystori und wunderbarlich legend Katherine von Senis [j. otmar, augsburg, 1515]. the reproduction is collotype. johnson tells us: «The monogram at the foot of the cut is that of Hans Schäuflein, who designed a number of small illustrations for this book, and presumably also the four borders used on the title-page.
