It took Gina longer than she would’ve liked to reach where the person had called her about Enkidu. She didn’t have time to think about whether or not this was some kind of trap. After all, Enkidu wouldn’t just entrust its phone to anyone. It had told her once that if it ever got captured, it would eat the cellphone so they couldn’t get her number.
At first, she got lost. She didn’t go over to this area much because of the high crime rate. And she wasn’t not a large person and pepper spray could only do so much. Finally, she found where the call had come from.
When she left her car, she found Enkidu and another guy holding the wound. It must’ve been the one who called.
“Come on, no time to explain. Just help me drag it to the car.” She pointed to the blue sedan that had the back passenger door opened. “I’ll take one arm and you can take another.”
