hello there, science side of tumblr. so, to start off, my family is a family of brown eyed brunettes. my grandma, my grandpa, my mom, my dad, my uncles and aunts, everyone. so why did I come out as a blonde, blue eyed lady? I've always wanted to ask but idk if it's scientific enough for ya.
There are dominant genes and recessive genes, a dominant gene is the feature that is most common for people to have(brown hair, brown eyes, etc). Recessive genes is a feature that is not so common(blonde hair, blue eyes, green eyes, etc). Which means one of your parents has a recessive gene, recessive genes can not always be seen in someone’s appearance but when they have a child with someone else that has a recessive gene, it will show up in their child's appearance.
