So if someone wanted to make a weirdly accurate statement in the interest of the Joke
How would that person go about finding out the real time pricing of organs in the black market?
I could just come up with a number but it wouldn't be the same
Hey science side why am i all tingly inside
I’m going to blow up Jupiter and no one will be surprised
Genuinely how has no one noticed that if you try and launch a rocket to close to Jupiter you explode it?
science side of tumblr why is there never any green in the sky
Happy STS! As it's the first Saturday of Pride Month, how about a little rainbow roll call? How do your characters identify?
Continuing the theme of me answering prompts about my science papers, today we’re talking about cannibalism!
The cane toad is a toxic and incredibly invasive species to many parts of the world, including Australia. There are so many cane toads there that they have developed an interesting survival tool: cannibalism. As tadpoles, cane toads will eat cane toad eggs. The tadpoles almost exclusively eat fellow cane toad eggs, too!
In response to the invasiveness of cane toads, scientists have developed an interesting technique: ultra-cannibalism. Because cane toad tadpoles are already cannibals, they are just dialing up this trait. To do this, they knock out a remarkably simple gene that allows for the tadpoles to develop into adult frogs - these edited frogs are called Peter Pan tadpoles because they never grow up. The edited cane toads stay in their tadpole form for several months, eating huge swaths of fellow cane toad eggs in whatever body of water they are in. A bonus is that they are very picky and pretty much never eat other animals!
There are still issues with this development, primarily that cane toads lay their eggs in so many places and the Peter Pan tadpoles would need to be placed in every single body of water in their area every year for this to properly work, but it is progress!
So, how does this relate to pride? Well, as we know, desire for cannibalism is *basically* the same thing as desire for sex, and given that cane toad tadpoles eat cane toad eggs of all genders: cane toads are pansexual.

Scientists would go :o at a graph that’s why there’s so many of them
I found this beauty at the beach half sanded between the rocks.
For context, I found it in French Guiana, in Remire-Montjoly.
My dad thinks it's a dog. I'm adamant it's a herbivore, maybe a tapir, but so near the beach and the city ?
Science Side of Tumblr, I invoke your might and implore you to quench my query.
