I like it when the science side of tumblr helps out people who ask for explanations—usually simplistically or humorously. It’s nice, and it makes me chuckle.

But sometimes, I get to see what I really love—when the science side of tumblr uses its powers to eviscerate ignorant dipsticks trying to pass off made up garbage as science.

You know, those fools who make some hokey claim about microwaves or vaccines?

And then the science side descends on their post like nerdy, lab-coated Valkyries raining down the wrath of Newton, Einstein, and Pasteur from the cyber-heavens.

Regarding the recent buzz about ladies in science, I'm also going to add that it even makes dating complicated. On numerous occasions, guys lose interest in me or completely stop talking to me once I've mentioned I'm getting a PhD. I've been told that it makes me "intimidating", which I think is an utter load of crap. I'm still a person, regardless of being in science or getting a PhD. /rant

Those guys are losing out. Phd ladies impressive me. But I do find intelligence to be an attractive feature in women. :)

I am sorry to hear about that kind of response. At least it’ll weed out the crowd of people who you wouldn’t want to be with anyways.
