Genuinely didn't think I'd get this done today, but my throat has started to hurt quite a bit and while I as kinda just resting, I decided to try finishing these and somehow I did it!
Thank you @little-merry-go-round @whydoilovesomanyvillians @septicplier @abzthefabulous @huffletrax and @septicstacheedits for the requests
Please ignore the splotches on the 2nd one. I may have forgotten to put paper between the pages 😅
It's 6:37am, which means as of this very moment, I have been alive for 21 years. I've wanted to be dead during that time. I've felt more alive than ever during that time. I've had amazing experiences and scarring experiences, once in a lifetime highs and I wish it wasn't my lifetime lows, but here I am
Who'd have thought that the young, feminine girl who loved princesses, wanted to be a vet and dreamt of having a husband and kids would turn into this, a less feminine girl who is lost in life but now volunteers at a local animal centre, spends 90% of her time watching videos/streams, loves the bad boy characters way too much and is also proud to be LGBTQ+
Thank you everyone who is here in my life at this point. Some of you were here last year. Some of you may be here next year. Some of you may just drift. But right now you're here and I appreciate it greatly
Here's a little self indulgent art of myself and my 3 favourite ocs celebrating
Squad movie night with Mortem, Nox ( @huffletrax ), Lottie ( @rinnexface ), Ash ( @septicstacheedits ), Peny ( @turquoisemagpie ) and a special 6th guest Shane ( @coolmadidraws )
To kind of recharge and basically do stuff for myself, I decided to do some draw the squad type art of the OC Squad. Featured we have Ash ( @septicstacheedits ), Lottie ( @rinnexface ), Nox ( @huffletrax ), Peny ( @turquoisemagpie ) and two of my beans, Mortem and Snap
I'll probably do some more of these since they're a good way to get away from fanart and the obligations of "posting art frequently to please people"
So this is a little story I came up with after seeing the art @huffletrax is working on and based on a conversation we had in our group about how the OC squad would meet up via a ‘train to nowhere’
Also appearing briefly in this is Peny ( @turquoisemagpie )
Mortem walked through the endless nothingness of The Void, somehow knowing exactly where to go and how far to walk before reaching a point of no return. In the centre, or what Mortem assumed was the centre, of The Void, was a buzzing hub of portals, ready to open and allow travellers to pass from one place to the next. The never stayed longer than a few steps between the hole they came through and the new doorway created for them, but this was the only place where life was supposed to exist in The Void.
One portal was broken, never connected to another world. In fact, Mortem hadn’t even noticed it until a friend had pointed it out, and now, it was one of his favourite places to go. Why would a broken portal be useful? Because it lead to an equally broken world, void of life and general existence bar a dilapidated train station that somehow, in the infinite power and possibilities of the universe, connected the emptiness between worlds with anywhere in your wildest dreams.
The train station was only a platform, littered with a few broken benches on one side and simply an empty pathway on the other, leading to nowhere in particular as it dissipated into the surrounding darkness. There were a few information stands with old, torn leaflets from years gone, or years to come, and a single digital sign with a badly cracked screen. No lights, no electricity, no one else. Until the train arrives.
Mortem reached the station with barely a second to rest before the broken screen flared to life, displaying a code, destination and time of arrival. 2 minutes, and the seconds were counting down as the screen flickered like a ticking clock. He decided to sit on the least broken bench, slightly off to the left with a few bent but sturdy legs. He looked back at the screen; 1 minutes, and the destination was shifting, probably because he wasn’t sure where he was going today, but the train code was always the same. Train N00W43R3 was now 30 seconds away.
He stood and straightened his shirt, playing with the sleeve cuffs nervously. This wasn’t the first or last time he’d catch the train, but even with people he felt like he’d known for eternity, he still couldn’t help the anxiety. 10 seconds, 9, 8. The timer almost felt quicker than real life until, dead on 0 seconds, a train came speeding into the station, abruptly stopping so the door aligned perfectly with Mortem.
The door opened to reveal a grinning demon wrapped in bandages and sporting a trench coat.
“You’re late.”
Peny winked and walked back into the train, where Mortem could now hear a few other familiar voices. Of course he’d be the last one.
“Actually,” Mortem headed onto the train and followed where Peny had walked, “it’s impossible to be late with this train.”
He was greeted warmly from his four bizarre friends, but he wouldn’t change them for the world.
“Now, where are we going today?”
And it's done! I found this outfit meme and realised a few of the outfits would be perfect for my characters, so I decided to draw each character in one of the outfits. It worked out perfectly, 9 outfits and 9 male (well 7 male and 2 non binary) characters
For those curious, we have: Mortem, 404, Absence, Tommy, Snap, Zeal, Api, Time and Atom
After a discussion in the group chat yesterday about the Oc Squad™️, I came to the conclusion that Mortem's nickname would 100% be bumblebee because of his colouring and also any rhyming various just to tease him
I've always been weird about moodboards because some people will use anything, regardless of who owns the image, so I made sure every image that wasn't mine (so every image other than the drawing XD) was a free use/stock image and all of them were also edited by me
