you know what I need? sciles looking to adopt a baby, but instead they find this werewolf kid/teen who's been through so many homes because of what they are. this kid is SO SURE they're never going to get adopted, and Scott's heart just. immediately melts and he can't say no. (and sure, they "miss out" on a lot of baby milestones, but they give the kid a welcoming home and teach them how to accept what they are, and that's the important part.)
When they go to the group home they’re kind of in awe. They expected a run down building with kids looking miserable but they were pleasantly surprised. The building looks fairly new and there’s kids out front playing as well as all throughout. There’s a few rooms set up like classrooms and even a gym. Their guide is ushering them along to the nursery but along the way Scott sees a kid sitting on the bay window. Scott sees the kid tense up and look over at him.
He looks maybe 13 or 14. His skin is dark brown, his dark black hair buzzed short, and his surprisingly hazel eyes look back at Scott with fleeting curiosity before quickly looking away. Scott opens his mouth to ask him a question but it interrupted by a throat clearing. He sees Stiles looking back at him curiously and catches up with him. “Who was the kid in the window?”
Their guide looks confused for a moment before speaking. “That was probably David. He sticks to himself mostly. He’s been to a few foster homes but nothings worked out. Some said he scared the other kids. Said he was a glowing eyed monster.”
Scott nods. “I’m just going to steal my husband for a moment.” They walk a little distance away.”
“What? What’s wrong?”
“I know we said we were going to get a baby but I think we should reconsider.”
