This brave squirrel managed to escape this red tailed hawk after a long pursuit through this tree. Both exhausted, they faced off on a tree limb, then the hawk suddenly flew off.

Richmond's Squirrel Sciurus richmondi

A squirrel endemic to Nicaragua, which may be the same species as the red-tailed squirrel. They are found in trees along streams in pastures, cacao plantations, and secondary woodlands.
