Well that was unexpected, I know your secret, this stays between us.
"Well, that was unexpected."
"I am SO sorry," The mortified Hunter apologized, still holding his companion back by the collar. The canine was still wiggling excitedly, wagging his long tail back and forth and knocking aside any hapless chairs that happened to be in his way. "Gospel usually doesn’t jump like that…"
"I know your secret."
The Reploid’s green eyes widened in a panicked, deer-in-the-headlights manner. Oh crap, oh crap….which secret?! Was it the fact that he played the part of a very dangerous and very wanted Maverick General? Was it the fact that he couldn’t shake himself out of said persona without artificial help? Was it the fact that he led the infamous Black Lake fighting club? The fact that he’d recruited several other Maverick Hunter personnel as members?!"L-look, we’re not doing anything illegal, ma’am…" Issimo tried to protest, hoping to high heaven Andrea wasn’t talking about his first guesses. He could explain away Black Lake - he’d had practice in doing so, in the past - but he couldn’t explain away "Dark".
"This stays between us."
"Yes, ma’am…" Issimo replied in agreement. It was bad enough a coworker had witnessed him drinking, but now that he was sober, he’d learned that said coworker had witnessed him drink so much that he’d started arguing with his own reflection (though he’d called it "Viking" for some reason). That was not an incident he could afford being passed around the organization rumor mill, and he felt incredibly grateful for Andrea’s willingness to keep the disaster quiet. He’d have to make sure to tell her so later. Right now, he had a pounding processor-ache, and he was pretty sure Commander Andrea wasn’t supposed to have a slightly-fuzzy twin…
