Being a newcomer to  material handling, I can say I was never really aware of how expansive this industry is. Most of us drive by warehouses every day, never wondering what goes on inside. But once you take a peek, it becomes very intriguing. You realize that nearly every product that is on a store shelf today has to have come through one of these warehouses at one point, or another, in the supply chain. This means that our industry encompasses much more than just selling forklifts or providing service; it is in fact essentially the lifeblood of many businesses operations.

Every business owner is naturally concerned with their bottom line, and when we break that down, we see that there are many factors that have an impact on this, even if they seem indirect. Safety standards are one issue, and we all know a safe workplace is a productive workplace, but how many companies are making this a priority?
