It was 6am and you woke up because your phone kept making noises. Today you had the first free day since weeks -or actually- months again and all you wanted to do was nothing but sleep in. But there was one person who woke you up, or to be specific, there were five.

You stretched out your arm to reach your phone and you saw that you got eight new messages. You slowly unlocked your phone and stared at the chats for a long time. Maybe for a much longer time than you expected it. The next moment that you recall is that your phone rang again and you woke up because of it. Now you have nine unread messages.

Two were from your mother wishing you good night and a nice free day. You noticed that you got those messages at 23pm and you concluded that you fell asleep before she even sent them. You normally don’t fall asleep early because you work every day until late at night to finish some work. But you were way too exhausted yesterday to actually do anything.

Seungjun also send you two messages. And one of them was the one that made you woke up when you dozed off just a minute earlier.

You let out a loud sigh out of frustration and you started to stamp your feeds on your bed which caused you to be fully awake now.

While Seungjun typed in something you went out of his and yours chatroom to see from whom you got the five left messages. It was from your chatroom with all five members from KNK. You thought that it was just some useless conversation they had at 6am in the morning and you decided to turn your sound off to get some more sleep, even though you were more than awake thanks to them, but your mind suddenly changed when you saw that Jihun wrote a message which said “Doesn’t Y/N have a day off..”. You quickly opened the chat and read the previous messages.

You knew that Inseong had a temper but you didn’t expect him to curse like this in your group chat. But on the other hand you can quite understand him and you think that you would react the same as him. Especially at this time of the day. While you read the chat Seungjun already wrote you a couple of messages which only said that he was sorry and that he totally forgot it. Maybe you had too many expectations but you were so happy that actually Jihun remembered that you had your day off today. You couldn’t stop smiling but then reality hit you. Maybe it was just the sound that your phone made because you got a new message again or it was just a sudden thought swing. It’s totally a fact for you that Jihun would never like you the way you like him. He already has a stressed life so why would he make it more stressful? Why should he try to be extra careful so that no one caught his relationship so that no rumours start? Why should he go through this to bother with his girlfriend? And why should you be his girlfriend? You had a lot of thoughts them and even more but you tried to forget about them. Today is not the first day that you had those thoughts. You have them whenever you hear his name or his voice, when you see him or just a picture from him. Your mind drifted away one again once Jihun texted you. And this time not in the group chat.

You were about to send him back a message saying that he doesn’t need to be sorry and that it’s okay since it’s normal for you to wake up this early - or even earlier- but then he send you a new message.

    ＞ ᴛʀʏ ᴛᴏ ɢᴇᴛ sᴏᴍᴇ sʟᴇᴇᴘ ɴᴏω         ⁰⁶:⁰⁹ ᴬᴹ You swear that you just heard your heart beat. How could you possible sleep now? Why must he be so cute? And why do you like him so much? You replied him with a simple “I will” and tried to go back to sleep. At least, you tried. Whenever you closed your eyes you saw his face and started to think about those little messages he send you today. The day just started and you were already head over heels about Jihun.

Some time passed and you actually managed to fall asleep. You woke up at 09:30 am and now your free day can begin. You unlocked your phone again and noticed a couple of new messages from different chats. The first one was Seungjun’s from 6am apologizing to you for waking you up. You also got a couple of new messages from your group chat and overflew them quickly. Since Seungjun wanted to do something today he decided to go to the cinema to watch some movie. It looked like everyone agreed on that suggestion and you replied to them that you also want to come with them. Especially since first, you haven’t been in the cinema for a while thanks to your work, second, you didn’t spent a lot of time with your friends in a while and third, you also wanted desperately to watch that new horror movie.

Seungjun decided to watch the movie in the evening and everyone agreed. You had still some time since you would met up those five and you decided to spend some time in the city. Time passed and you made your way to the cinema. You came earlier so you didn’t expected them to be already there but somone looked familiar. You slowly approached him and he also turned around. Even though he was wearing a mask and a cap there was no doubt that it was Jihun. While you were running to him he also took a few steps closer and waved to you. Both of you greeted each other and you asked him where the others were. He said that Seungjun texted him a minute earlier telling him that they will come later and that Jihun and you should buy some popcorn and wait in the cinema hall where the movie will play. So both of you did and to be honest you didn’t mind that the other would come later so that you and Jihun could spend more time together.

You bought a big popcorn bag and sat down in your seats in your cinema hall. There weren’t many people there but it was propably only because the film hasn’t started yet. You checked your phone since Jihun was on the toilet and you noticed that Seungjun texted you something strange.        ＞ we won't come               ＞ enjoy your time with            jihun alone            ¹⁹:⁵⁰ ᴾᴹ You noticed someone sitting next to you while you tried to understand the current situation. You could feel your checks turning red but luckily the lights were already off. You didn’t notice that Jihun was leaning in until he told you that he got the same messages from Seungjun which caused you to jump in your seat and you let out a little scream. Jihun also got a shook and asked you if you really want to watch a horror movie with him. You slowly nodded and he flicked your forehead with his finger saying “No need to turn red.”. You turned your head around focosing on the screen while Jihun laughed it off. He quitely muttered “Cute.” to himself but you didn’t heard it. It was quite awkward for you to be with Jihun this close and noone around you. Well, technicly there were other people but maybe only around 15? You dind’t know if you should thank the others or not for putting you in a situation like this with Jihun. You know that Jihun would never like you so you tried to not make a big deal out of it and act like you are enjoying just some time with a close friend. You are just a “normal” girl who is nothing special beside all those idols who can sing, dance and whatelse that you can’t. But you didn’t know that Jihun would think the same way as you do.

You were releaved when the film started because you couldn’t endure the awkwardness anymore. The movie had a duration from almost 2h and you couldn’t believe that Jihun fell asleep when the movie actually got thrilling. While he slept he laid his head on your shoulder and at first you got a little shook because of the sudden touch but actuall relaxed when you saw his cute sleeping face. When he moved a bit to make himself comfortable on your shoulder you quickly focused again on the movie.

Because of a little jump scare in the movie you jumped in your seat due to the shook and totally fogot that Jihun was sleeping on your shoulder. He woke up because of your sudden movement and rubbed his eyes with his right hand. You instantly turned to him and apologized and asked him if he was alright. He looked up to you and both of you noticed that your faces where too close. His right arm was resting on the seat armrest and his left hand suddenly stroke your right cheek and your face turned red. He slowly leant in to kiss you but you turned around fast and tried to focus on the movie.

You somehow made it through the movie and when the movie ended you turned your face to Jihun’s direction and noticed that he was sleeping again. You slightly touched his cheeks over and over to wake him but he only growled. You told him quietly to wake up but he only muttered ”I don’t want to~.” while he laid his head on your shoulder. You stroke his hair with your left hand and said that both of you need to leave now. He answered “But I want to sleep”. You were quite for a while because you thought that he could rest for a few more minutes.

But after Jihun’s last words he took your hand and stared at you with his sleepy eyes. You didn’t get to say anything because he stood up and left the cinema with your hand in his. While you were on your way out the two of you put your jacket on and he his cap and mask.When you left the cinema he headed to your direction. You wanted to ask him so many things right now but you thought that it was better to keep the silence.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned around. He lowered his mask so that it didn’t cover hismouth and reached out his hands to your face. You were looking into his eyes and he in yours. You wanted to ask him what he is doing but he started to speak.

“I can’t keep up with this Y/N. I really didn’t know that they planed this only to get me closer to you but I know that you don’t like me the way that I like you. I know that you will never like me especially because I am a singer and I know that you don’t want to get into chaos for dating me. But.. I really do like you. I want you to know that.”. Silence. You stared at his eyes and for the first time you really saw that he meant what he said. He really likes you. A small smile was formed on your face and Jihun looked at you weird.

“Do you think it’s funny?” he quitely asked you with disappointment while he slowly looked down. You shook your head and your smile got bigger.

“What is it then?” he was still looking away and you noticed that he was embarrassed because he confessed his feelings to you.

“Because I like you too”

"Shōto miał serdecznie dosyć czekania na cud. Nieraz pragnął uciec. Zostawić wszystko za sobą. Nigdy jednak nie czuł się wystarczająco na siłach. Nie znał dróg. Nie miał kontaktów z ludźmi. Nie potrafił żyć poza obrębem wieży. Teraz jednak nadarzyła się dla niego idealna okazja, by coś zmienić w swoim życiu, i zamierzał z niej skorzystać. Podszedł do szafy i uchylił drzwi. — Słyszałaś mnie. Muszę się dostać na festiwal obdarzonych. Pomóż mi, a oddam ci diadem. — Starał się wyglądać na pewnego siebie, ale nie był w stanie ocenić, na ile mu się to udało. — Skąd pomysł, że się zgodzę? — [Reader] popatrzyła na niego z niechęcią. — Wiem, że ci zależy — oznajmił chłopak. Minęła chwila niezręcznej ciszy. — Niech będzie. — Dziewczyna wyciągnęła dłoń. (...)Tamtego dnia nie wiedział jeszcze, że wyrusza na największą przygodę swojego życia."

[Reader] pociągnęła za wodze, pospieszając konia do jeszcze szybszego pędu. Niejeden człowiek pewnie przejąłby się losem zwierzęcia, które toczyło pianę z pyska, próbując nadążyć za morderczym tempem jazdy narzuconym przez właścicielkę. Rumak naprężył wszystkie mięśnie i przeskoczył nad kłodą.

Dziewczyna schyliła głowę. Udało jej się uniknąć spotkania z gałęzią. Już i tak wystarczająco poobdzierała sobie twarz w trakcie ucieczki. Przeklęła się za wjechanie do lasu. Było to jedyne miejsce, gdzie mogła zgubić strażników. Nie znała jednak tutejszych ścieżek. Obejrzała się za siebie. Miała nadzieję, że uda jej się pozbyć mężczyzn goniących ją aż od miasta. Niestety dwójka wciąż deptała jej po piętach. Przez moment rozważała, czy nie powinna wyrzucić tiary po drodze. Mogłaby wtedy się zatrzymać i udawać niewinną. Wiedziała jednak, że żołnierze już widzieli błysk w jej torbie. Nawet jeśli nie znajdą skradzionego przedmiotu, to i tak pewnie zrobiliby z niej kozła ofiarnego. Poniosą karę za nieupilnowanie królewskich dóbr. Gdyby przyprowadzili winnego, to ich wyrok miałby szansę się zmniejszyć.

Im dalej w las się zagłębiała, tym ciemniej było. Drzewa rosły coraz gęściej. Ucieczka stawała się trudna. Boki konia unosiły się i opadały z taką szybkością, że była pewna, iż za moment po prostu padnie.

Nastolatka przygryzła wargę. Może jej rodzice mieli rację. Źle w życiu wybrała. Gdyby tylko została z nimi na farmie, nie musiałaby teraz tak się męczyć. Uczciwie, ale biednie. Tak wyobrażali sobie przyszłość. Czy to źle, że próbowała im pomóc, choć tej pomocy nie chcieli? To miał być jej ostatni skok. Kradzież życia. Oferta Dabiego była wszystkim, o czym zawsze marzyła. Zgodziła się włamać do skarbca i przynieść mu diadem. Nie wiedziała, po co mu on. Nie ma mowy, by dał radę go komukolwiek sprzedać. Nikt nie pisałby się na takie ryzyko. Nie obchodziło jej to jednak. Liczyły się tylko pieniądze. Złote monety, za które mogłaby polepszyć byt matki i ojca. Nie chcieli ich. Zdawała sobie z tego sprawę. Planowała je zostawić na progu domu. Pragnęła choć częściowo się odkupić w ich oczach. Po tym, jak ją skarcili, uciekła z chatki. Nie potrafiła znieść ich zawiedzionych spojrzeń.

Zerknęła przez ramię i przeklęła pod nosem. Nic się nie zmieniło. Siwek nie dawał już rady. Zrezygnowana zatrzymała go. Gdy zsiadała, ugięły się pod nią nogi. Nie zdawała sobie sprawy z tego, jak bardzo się zmęczyła. Odbiegła, panicznie rozglądając się dookoła. Tętent kopyt stał się głośniejszy. Nagle przed jej oczami ukazały się skały. Nieważne, w którą stronę próbowała podążać, nie potrafiła im uciec. Nie mogła też zawrócić. Znalazła się w potrzasku. W myślach już szykowała się na proces. O ile w ogóle ktoś wpadnie na taki pomysł, zanim spalą ją na stosie albo powieszą.

Coś szybko śmignęło nad jej głową. Odwróciła się i ujrzała ptaka. Jastrząb zniknął gdzieś w szczelinie między głazami. Niewiele myśląc, rzuciła się za nim. Wciągnęła brzuch. Wstrzymując oddech, wcisnęła się w ciemność. Dłonią wymacała chłodną ścianę. Głosy strażników stawały się cichsze, im dalej szła. Zupełnie nie spodziewała się, że korytarz się rozszerzy. A już na pewno nie oczekiwała tak wspaniałego widoku na jego końcu.

Zamrugała, próbując przyzwyczaić się do światła. Zachodzące słońce odbijało się w wielkim jeziorze. Wiatr poruszał koronami nielicznych drzew. Większość z nich była przewrócona. Ze zdziwieniem zauważyła gdzieniegdzie ogromne połacie wypalonej trawy. Czy to możliwe, by piorun trafił w aż tyle różnych miejsc? Tym, co przykuło jej uwagę najbardziej, była jednak wieża. Budowla wyciosana z białego kamienia wystawała wysoko w górę. Pokrywały ją czerwone dachówki. Wydawała się stara. To w jej stronę leciał ptak. Być może miał tam gniazdo. Postanowiła za nim podążyć.

Stanęła na łące pełnej kwiatów. Otaczały ją wszystkie możliwe kolory. Większość pąków zwijała się do środka, przygotowując się na nadejście nocy. To uświadomiło jej, że też powinna znaleźć schronienie. Nadal była poszukiwana. Spanie pod gołym niebem nie było najlepszym pomysłem. Spojrzała w górę. Ściana była prawie idealnie gładka. Widziała jedynie kilka szczelin. Postanowiła przynajmniej spróbować. Kiedy jednak uniosła rękę, zdała sobie sprawę z tego, że jest nieruchoma. Zaraz potem uczucie przeniosło się także na nogi. Cienka warstwa lodu pokryła całe jej ciało. Ostatnim, co zobaczyła, była rozmazana smuga czerwieni i bieli.

Shōto powoli roztapiał lód na skórze dziewczyny. Przystawił ją bliżej ognia. Kominek buzował jasnym płomieniem. Wciąż nie potrafił używać swojej mocy. A może po prostu nie chciał? Chyba po części jedno i drugie. Przyglądał się uważnie niespodziewanemu gościowi. Ojciec zawsze mu powtarzał, by pozbył się każdego, kto kiedykolwiek tu zawita. Mówił, że to dla jego dobra i że tacy ludzie są jego wrogami. Chłopak nie rozumiał, po co ktokolwiek miałby go krzywdzić. Niczym nikomu nie zawinił. A przynajmniej tak mu się wydawało... Wspomnienia z dzieciństwa były niczym czarna dziura. Czasem miewał przebłyski wydarzeń, ale nigdy na tyle wielkie, by coś sensownego z nich poskładać. Odruchowo dotknął twarzy. Blizna wokół lewego oka wciąż tam była. Nawet o niej niewiele wiedział. Przez długi czas wydawało mu się, że może sam się poparzył, ale niekiedy powracało do niego wspomnienie białych włosów. Nie należały do niego. A więc jego defekt musiał być cudzym dziełem.

Pierwszym, co odtajało, była torba. Sięgnął po brązowy materiał. W środku znalazł jedynie trochę jedzenia. Torba zdecydowanie była za ciężka, jak na taki pakunek. Coś tu nie grało. Potrząsnął nią z całej siły. Usłyszał szelest, jak gdyby coś jeszcze się w niej przewracało.

— Hawks! — zagwizdał młodzieniec.

Jastrząb zjawił się przy nim w mgnieniu oka. Rozerwał pazurami dno. Ze sprytnie ukrytej dodatkowej kieszeni coś wypadło. Po podłodze potoczył się diadem. Shōto podniósł go z ziemi. Był niewielki. Wykonany na głowę dziecka. Srebro odbijało światło z kominka. Wpleciono w nie rubiny i diamenty. Właścicielka przedmiotu nie wyglądała na kogoś, kto mógłby sobie pozwolić na taką kosztowność.

Lód coraz mocniej się topił. Chłopak postanowił związać nogi i ręce dziewczyny kilkoma chustkami. Żałował, że nie ma liny, ale na co dzień zwyczajnie jej nie potrzebował. Włosy wystarczały mu, by zejść z wieży.

Nie potrafił się otrząsnąć z wrażenia, że widział już kiedyś tę tiarę. Może w jednej z książek? Tyle że znał je już na pamięć. Chyba by ją rozpoznał...

Skierował wzrok w stronę kominka. W sam raz, by ujrzeć, jak nastolatka powoli otwiera oczy i zaraz potem je zamyka. Grała nieprzytomną. Sprytnie.

— Widziałem! Nie udawaj! — starał się zabrzmieć jak najgroźniej.

Intruzka próbowała go nabrać jeszcze przez moment, ale w końcu się poddała. Podszedł bliżej, wystawiając rękę. Lód zatańczył nad jego prawą dłonią. To ją przestraszyło, tak jak oczekiwał. Gwałtownie odsunęła głowę do tyłu, spodziewając się rychłego ataku.

— Nic ci nie będzie, jeśli odpowiesz na moje pytania — stwierdził spokojnie.

Odpowiedziało mu kiwnięcie głową.

— Kim jesteś? — spytał Shōto.

— O to samo mogłabym zapytać ciebie... — Widząc, jak lód powoli zbliża się do jej twarzy, dziewczyna zreflektowała się: — [Reader]. Nazywam się [Reader].

— Co tu robisz? — Chłopak podszedł bliżej.

— Zgubiłam się. — Łgarstwo gładko przeszło jej przez usta.

— To daleko w lesie. Co w nim robiłaś? — brnął dalej młodzieniec.

— Co to za przesłuchanie? — oburzyła się. — I dlaczego trzymasz mój diadem? — Panika w oczach [Reader] dała znać, że coś jest na rzeczy.

Śledziła wzrokiem błyskotkę, przeklinając się w duchu. Dabi pewnie teraz siedział w swoim bogatym, granatowym płaszczu, popijał drogie wino i zastanawiał się, kiedy jego przesyłka dotrze na miejsce. Tymczasem ona utknęła nie wiadomo gdzie z nie wiadomo kim.

— Próbuję ustalić, czy jesteś zagrożeniem — stwierdził Shōto. — A to — wskazał na tiarę — na pewno nie należy do ciebie.

— Skąd ta pewność? — Popatrzyła na niego, ściągając brwi w grymasie niezadowolenia.

— Nie wyglądasz na kogoś, kogo byłoby na nią stać.

— Hej! — Już miała coś dodać, ale do jej uszu dobiegł obcy głos.

— Shōtooo! — Donośny dźwięk niósł się gdzieś z dołu wieży.

Chłopak przeklął cicho pod nosem. Nie mógł pozwolić, by ojciec zobaczył dziewczynę. Inaczej to byłby jej koniec. Rzucił diadem w górę. Hawks złapał go w locie i zabrał ze sobą. Upuścił go na jednej z belek pod sufitem.

— Wejdź do szafy i nie wychylaj się, jeśli ci życie miłe, zrozumiano? — Chłopak rozwiązał więzy, wpychając intruzkę wgłąb mebla. Następnie podbiegł do okna. Zebrał koniec włosów i przerzucił go przez parapet. Czerwono-białe kosmyki wydostały się na zewnątrz, po czym pomknęły w dół. Ból był znajomy. Enji wspinał się po prawie gładkiej ścianie domu, by dostać się do środka.

— Wydawało mi się, że słyszałem twój głos — skwitował ojciec, gdy już wdrapał się na szczyt. — Co tak długo?

— Rozmawiałem z Hawksem — skłamał syn. Jak na zawołanie ptak sfrunął i usiadł mu na ramieniu.

Surowe spojrzenie rodzica nie wyrażało aprobaty. Nie przepadał za zwierzęciem. W jego ocenie było zbyt głośne i porywcze. W dodatku w ogóle nie chciało go słuchać.

— Nie zabawię dziś długo — oznajmił Enji.

Wyciągnął kosz. W środku znajdowały się zapasy jedzenia i kilka nowych książek. Wyłożył wszystko na wiekowy, drewniany stół.

— Obiecałeś, że porozmawiamy o festiwalu. — Shōto stanął na wprost niego.

— Nie w tym roku. — Spojrzenie ojca stało się chłodne.

[Reader] podglądała, co się dzieje, przez lekko uchylone drzwi szafy. Nawet ona mimowolnie skuliła się pod wzrokiem tego człowieka. Było w nim coś odpychającego.

— To samo mówiłeś rok temu — zaprotestował sfrustrowany chłopak.

— Nie wyjdziesz stąd, dopóki nie nauczysz się używać mocy ognia. Koniec dyskusji! — Mężczyzna rozpalił obie dłonie.

Gorzały jasnym płomieniem jak zawsze, gdy się zdenerwował.

Jak miał się czegoś nauczyć, skoro nie miał z kim trenować? W wieży był wiecznie samotny. Mógł tylko wychodzić na łąkę przed nią. To tam odbywał wszystkie treningi. Z lodem szło mu naprawdę dobrze, ale ognia nie potrafił okiełznać. Cały czas nawiedzał go strach. Nie dawał rady go kontrolować. Palił wszystko dookoła, jeśli tylko dał się ponieść. Ojciec wcale mu nie pomagał. Dawał tylko beznadziejne wskazówki. Kiedyś nawet chciał, by syn przestał się hamować. Shōto wciąż pamiętał, jak spalona była ziemia w miejscu, gdzie spróbował. Zginęły wszystkie drzewa, krzewy i kwiaty. Dopiero niedawno część z nich odrosła. Obiecał sobie, że nie chce nigdy więcej tego robić. Co gdyby stał tam człowiek nieodporny na ogień? Już dawno by nie żył. Chłopak stanowił dla innych zagrożenie. Zdawał sobie z tego sprawę. Mimo to pragnął móc wyjść do ludzi. Liczył na to, że zbiorowisko obdarzonych jakoś mu pomoże. Impreza odbywała się tylko raz w roku. Gdyby nauczył się jakoś korzystać z mocy, to nareszcie mógłby prowadzić normalne życie.

Ojciec zgasił ogień, odzyskując opanowanie. Odwrócił się do niego plecami, czekając, aż syn opuści włosy. Młodzieniec specjalnie ociągał się, by dać do zrozumienia, że jest zły. Ostatecznie jednak kosmyki ponownie tego popołudnia dotknęły trawy. Enji dostał się po nich na dół i niedługo potem zniknął.

Shōto miał serdecznie dosyć czekania na cud. Nieraz pragnął uciec. Zostawić wszystko za sobą. Nigdy jednak nie czuł się wystarczająco na siłach. Nie znał dróg. Nie miał kontaktów z ludźmi. Nie potrafił żyć poza obrębem wieży. Teraz jednak nadarzyła się dla niego idealna okazja, by coś zmienić w swoim życiu, i zamierzał z niej skorzystać.

Podszedł do szafy i uchylił drzwi.

— Słyszałaś mnie. Muszę się dostać na festiwal obdarzonych. Pomóż mi, a oddam ci diadem. — Starał się wyglądać na pewnego siebie, ale nie był w stanie ocenić, na ile mu się to udało.

— Skąd pomysł, że się zgodzę? — [Reader] popatrzyła na niego z niechęcią.

— Wiem, że ci zależy — oznajmił chłopak.

Minęła chwila niezręcznej ciszy.

— Niech będzie. — Dziewczyna wyciągnęła dłoń.

Popatrzył na nią niepewnie. Przez moment myślał, że zaraz go zaatakuje i wszystkie słowa ojca okażą się prawdą. Nic takiego jednak nie nastąpiło.

— Podasz mi rękę czy nie? — prychnęła zniecierpliwiona.

Wyciągnął dłoń w jej stronę. Nie spuszczał z niej wzroku. Nie wiedział, czego od niego oczekiwała. Ona jednak zamknęła ją w szczelnym uścisku i potrząsnęła nią.

— A więc umowa stoi — podsumowała.

Tamtego dnia nie wiedział jeszcze, że wyrusza na największą przygodę swojego życia.

He feels cold pressure on his chin which brings him out of his daze. Staring down he sees a cup. “What is this?” He asks taking it.

“It’s a drool cup,” states Younghoon, while Jacob puts on a confused face. “To catch your drool while you’re checking Y/N out.”

“I wasn’t checking Y/N out,” he says as the his cheeks begin to flush a pink color.

“Sure, you weren’t.”

Jacob moves his gaze down to his food. However, he continues to subconsciously sneak peeks at you.

“Dude but seriously,” continues Younghoon once he catches Jacob staring again, “what are you going to do, you can’t just stare at them all your life.”

A sigh escapes his mouth as he continues to eat his food, “I know, but it’s just that they’re so cool.”

Younghoon rolls his eyes at this, “please, they barely talk and they work in a library, clearly we have different understandings of cool.”

The bell rings signaling the end of lunch and all the students get up throwing their trash away and making their way to their next class.

“All I’m saying is that you should actually do something,” continues Younghoon.

“What are you talking about?”

“Y/N, you should like ask them out or something.”

“Ha I don’t think so,” says Jacob turning a corner. As he does this his body comes into contact with another’s knocking the other person’s books out of their hand.

“I’m sorry-“ starts Jacob but he’s cut off when he realizes it’s you he bumped into. You bend down collecting your books while he stands there unsure of what to do. After a few seconds he realizes he should be helping you instead of standing there dumbly.

“Thanks Jacob,” you say bowing to him as you grab the last book from him. He’s caught in a daze again realizing that’s the first time he’s ever heard his name leave your lips.

He comes back to reality once you’re already down the hallway. “No problem,” he yells, response delayed while waving back and forth quickly.

“Way to go Romeo,” mutters Younghoon clapping his hand on Jacob’s back.

Jacob felt stuck. He couldn’t figure out anymore words to finish his 5,000 word essay. Sighing deeply he jumps when he feels something hit his foot under the table.

Peeking under the table he sees you bending down about to pick up a pen. He quickly slides off the chair and picks up the pen extending it to you.

Still under the table you say your thanks as you begin to scoot back to stand up. Jacob watches you taking in your movements until you’re fully out from under the table.

“Y/N!” He yells lifting his head up hitting it with a bang. Holding his head he crawls out from under the table.

“Y/N,“ he repeats this time getting your attention.

“Yes Jacob.”

“I was wondering if maybe,” he pauses as the words don’t come out of his mouth. “If maybe you.”

“-Do you have the notes for Mr. Kim’s class,” he asks mentally slapping his cheeks for interrupting himself to ask that question.

“Oh sure just let me get that for you.”

He watches as you swiftly bend down grabbing your bag and begin roaming it.

Watching you he suddenly begins to get more nervous and his heart begins to pound in his eardrums. Taking in a deep breath he calms his heart.

“I like you,” he blurts out which stops your motions. You look up at him unsure if you heard him correctly.

“What?”

Jacob shifts his eyes on anything that’s not you, “I said I like you?”

You tilt your head noticing the questionable tone he used.

“I like you,” he says standing taller and with more confidence to which you smile at.

“Yeah I know you like me.”

“What how?”

“It’s kind of hard to not notice when you’re always staring at me when you think I’m not looking,” you explain giggling while heat rushes to Jacob’s cheeks.

“Oh well okay then,” he rocks on his heels stalling while trying to form his next words out in his head, but you beat him to it.

“Do you want to go on a date tomorrow after school?”

“Sure,” he agrees a little too loudly, eagerly shaking his head.

You giggle again while slinging your bag over your shoulder, “okay see you then, goodbye Jacob.”

“Bye Y/N,” he waves back continuing to grin like an idiot in the middle of the library.

Red Eyes

Character: Dokyun (History)

Genre: Vampire AU!, drabble

I ran down the alley. There was a door just ahead. I heard him coming. I panicked and ran for the door. Fuck it’s locked. I tried ramming the door but it was no use. I slid down the door holding my shoulder. The pain intensified as I tried to catch my breath. This is not happening. Why were they after me? 

“There she is.” I looked up to see the men cornering me in. 

“Please just take it.” I threw the purse. “Just leave me alone.” 

“Oh sweet cheeks,” I could smell the alcohol from the breath. “We don’t want that.”

“No we want something more valuable.” The three men were hovering over me now. Fuck fuck fuck! 

“OW!” I rammed my leg up and hit the middle guy’s crotch and ducked around them. Slipping, because I’m the graceful idiot, and landed right on my wrist. Now the pain from my shoulder wasn’t as bad due to the now broken wrist. 

“Damn it!” The men were right to me in seconds. I just covered my head and laid back down. This is how it will end I guess.

“YAH!” I heard one yell. I jerked up to find only two standing there.

“Where did...?” But before he could answer he disappeared in a flash. The last guy took his gun out. He forced me up to my feet. 

“Alright enough games.” He placed the barrel at my head. “Come out and face me.” 

“I wouldn’t have done that if I were you...” His velvet voice came from behind us. The man swung around with me in his hands. I rolled my eyes.

“Can you not play with your food right now.” The man looked at me and looked up into the dark alleyway. “My wrist really hurts and I’d rather go home if thats ok.”

“Shut up bitch!” The man yelled at me. A growl was heard in the alley. 

“You really shouldn’t have called me that.” I sighed. Then within second the man was jerked off of me and I fell the the floor. I held my right arm. The pain intensified with every movement. 

“Jagiya?” Then there he was, Dokyun was finally in view. His white porcelain skin glowing in the moonlight. His now blood red eyes looking down at me concerned. I don’t think I’ll ever get use to his eyes after he feeds. At first they were hard to look at but I guess they are growing on me. Those red eyes now something I see every other night. 

“I’m fine.” I said getting up with his help. “By the way,” I wiped the blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. “Thank you.” I smiled.

“Perks of dating a vampire sweetie.” He laughed and pulled me to him. Even with all those layers of cloths on, I can still feel his ice cold skin. I began to shiver. “Let’s get you home.” 

“What no lecture on how I should be out so late, how I shouldn’t be away from my friends by myself, or how...” He leaned down and kissed me. I will never get over his kisses. Even though, he tells me that they aren’t his powers, his kisses still do something to me. 

“That can wait until you are fully healed,” He looked at my shoulder and wrist. But I wasn’t paying attention to that. That kiss got left me wanting more like always. I grab the back of his neck with my good arm and bring him closer to me. 

“Not here.” He chuckled and pulled back. I stood there a bit dizzy from the initial kiss. He smirked and put me on his back. “Now like I said let’s get you home.”

“So you can have your way with me?” I laughed.

“Now I didn’t say that.” He said smirking up at me. “But if that’s what you wish then I guess I will have to.”

Kise’s purpose of coming to an amusement park was not for the rides. He had been tailing you like a dog around the place, only picking child rides so he can set the atmosphere and cling to you. If only you had known...

Kise points excitedly at the merry-go-round, where children have lined up in excitement. Before entering, there is a shelf with a sign that reads, ‘Place your valuables here’. He smirks as he lifts you up and places you down on the shelf. “My valuable is here!” He chirps, and you scowl at him, lightly kicking him back. He stumbles and falls on top of a small trash bin, and it’s now your turn to smirk. “Oh look, my trash threw itself out.” 

Embarrassed, he dusts himself off and drags you in, sitting you on a majestic white horse. Instead of taking the horse beside you, he hops on behind, hugging you tightly with both his arms. “I’ll be your seatbelt, _______-cchi!” He laughs as he whinnies and gallops for the horse as the carousel begins to move. The prince charming does not care that you are blushing furiously among the children, who quite honestly have taken a liking to him and are all engrossed in his story of saving a princess. 

When the ride stops, he hops down first, offering you a hand. “Princess,” he acknowledges as you take his hand to hop down next to him. He tries to hug you close to him, but you swiftly punch his stomach, bringing him down on his knee as he clutches it in pain. 

“Bow down, peasant.” You say with a grin before dashing out of the carousel, finding your way between the children. Kise stays there for a moment before running after you, idiotically happy that you have finally played along.
